Be careful of Mojo. They have a $40 signup fee. In my case that seemed worthwhile as it would be offset by the lower supply and usage charges over the medium to long term. But was given a few days notice last week that their rates are increasing (supply charge by over 44% and usage charge by more than 50%).I know that prices are going up, but when you pay a sign-up fee for a discounted price you expect to keep getting a discount when prices go up. The new rates appear to be basically undiscounted from the reference rate. I will not be paying a sign-up fee to any power company in future, and would suggest that others avoid Mojo at any cost.p.s. They have replied that the new rates bring me up to the DMO, which is the maximum amount that any electricity retailer is able to charge their customers in NSW. That was precisely my point ... there is no longer ANY discount. I acknowledge that I was on a very competitive rate prior to the increase (I would not have paid the $40 fee otherwise). Most retailers specify a percentage discount on the DMO rate (most call it 'reference rate') for their discount plans, but Mojo did not specify the discount in this way. So my warning about Mojo remains ... I strongly advise against paying a sign-up fee to any power retailer unless there is a guaranteed ongoing discount. To charge people to sign up for a discounted rate, and then to start charging the maximum possible rate (without any discount) does not seem ethical to me. I've already moved to another provider, so I am simply trying to warn other people about this practice.

I actually didn't mind Mojo while I was with them. Their rates were sharp, and their website dashboard was fairly easy to use and understand. Only reason I moved is because their rates were variable (so would change whenever the underlying wholesale rate changed). I moved to a fixed rate plan with another provider, but would have no issues returning to Mojo in the future if the market settles down.

Last minute closing notification and out us onto dodgy Energy Australia at the maximum rate without any consultation hope the CEO doesn't get a cent

I have been more than happy to be a customer of MOJO Power for many years. I am sorry they are no longer providing this service.

Appalling, they had great rates and as soon as I joined (less than a month) they increased all rates by over 35%. Fortunately my old electricity provider still has maintained their rates and switched back to them. I understand rates are going up for a lot of providers but to advertise cheap rates (they are still advertised on their website) and then change them as soon as you join, should be called out as false advertising.

The online chatbot support was really great! The best part is that there were no move in or move out fees! Also, there is no breaking charges if I disconnect in less than 12 months which also a great value for money.Unfortunately, I have not been provided with the initial meter reading upon moving in which should be a basic requirement of any contract.I am also unable to view my contract on the mojopower portal. I am only able to see the plan title.I am also unable to see the NMI, meter number associated with my contract on the website. House address being shown is not enough as one house may have more than one meter installed in it.Overall, a good experience though booking my first electricity contract with Mojopower!

Apart from price I was drawn to Mojo being able to install a Smart Meter so that I could have a look at our usage in real time. I signed up in early May 2021 with trf from my previous provider occurring on 2 June. It took 56 days for my 'Smart Meter' to be installed during which time I was charged $90 more than if I had stayed with my previous provider. I rang the call centre (located in the Philippines) and I was provided with a credit for the difference. I contacted Mojo again and on 16 Sep I was advised that my data was live. When I tried to access I couldn't. Another contact - assurance problem would be fixed in 24-28 hrs. Here I am on 28 Sep with the app still not providing real time information. For those that already have Smart Meters maybe the change over is smooth but if you are wanting a Smart Meter I would look elsewhere.

Prices started off fair, however rates have risn twice now in 12 months. Have moved to AGL who offer a rate at 50% less that the new rate and with my solar FIT remaining the same.

I've started the process of transferring my power over to Mojo Power and it has been OK so far, with most contact happening via email. It has drawn out a bit due to the installation of the smart meter, with responses to emails happening slower as the weeks go by. I sent an email about 2 hours ago and hadn't had a reply so I looked up the phone number for Mojo Power and then saw the reviews on Google. I was a little alarmed after reading a few of them. I was even more alarmed when I read about the installation costs! With the initial installation cost being around $150! And a second call out if needed being well over $200! I was shocked as I have not been informed of this at any point of the transfer over of my supply. After calling Mojo Power I was informed that the above rates are only charged for complex installations. If this had gone ahead I wouldn't have provided informed consent for this installation. I will be proceeding with caution..

I should have read the reviews first. Jumped on board with competitive rates just a few months ago only to receive a 58% hike in an email today (From 19.063 ¢/kWh to 30.1460 ¢/kWh), judging by their other reviews, seems like standard practice well before the Ukraine conflict, just the excuse of the day...We know that one of the outcomes of the conflict in Ukraine and the worldwide supply chain problems is that commodity prices have increased substantially and very quickly.
