BIG4 Forbes Holiday Park

We had a large group booking across multiple sites and cabins, one site checked in after hours and had a campervan and car with a rooftop tent.In the morning we were very rudely told by the female owner that the rooftop tent needed its own site as its a one vehicle per site rule - fair enough this is a fairly standard rule across parks.I went to ask if the rooftop could park on our caravan site as the one vehicle. The lady owner was very rude in her manner towards us, I tried to explain that moving the rooftop meant splitting a father from his children. She did not care responding with “he won’t be far away”We were just trying to gain an understanding of the reason and come up with a solution that didn’t split a family. We were told that it was an insurance requirement and is the same for all Big4 parks. We have stayed in hundreds of parks across Australia many of them big4 and have never had this issue, nor have we been spoken to so rudely by staff.1 caravan, 1 vehicle, 1 swag on the ground was ok but one caravan, one vehicle with a rooftop was not ok??The rule then changed from one vehicle per site to one “camping vehicle” per site. Further attempts to reason resulted in being told we could get out! I was dumbfounded, at no point were we rude nor did we refuse to move the rooftop to a separate site. We paid an extra $60 for the 2 nights on an extra site and a father had to sleep 4 sites away from the rest of his family.Warren on the other hand was very friendly and great to deal with. The park itself is lovely and well maintained. We had a nice time with family and overall enjoyed our stay together. The lady’s manner did leave a bad taste but we weren’t going to let her ruin our time together.The rules are not the problem, it’s the way the female owner speaks to people and sadly, this alone is the reason we won’t be returning. Unfortunately when we think of Big4 Forbes the manner of this lady will be in the forefront.Her rude manner towards guests seem to be a common theme in the reviews and I suspect her response to this review will be no different - no aknowlegdment of the guests concerns and written in the same rude manner she speaks across the reception desk.

A beautiful town with heritage buildings and glorious homes. Nice street scapes with brilliant autumn leaves. The lake is a feature not to be missed.Big 4 is a neat tree studded park with spacious drive through caravan/ camp sites. Ammenities are small but adequate. Camp kitchen and fire pit , pool and kids play area.Manager is friendly and helpful.The best Caravan park in Forbes

We stayed here for one night,o our way up to Queensland it was pouring down rain, had a drive through site directly across from the camp kitchen, close to amenities, they were very clean and they supplied you with a bath mat what a great idea. The owners were also very nice, quite park price was normal. not a big flash big four . Stayed again on way back and yes it was raining, the grounds were just like swimming pools everywhere. The men's showers have only 3 showers and one was not working and the park was full so the line up was incredible, a little more maintenance on the park would be good.

Cabins and camp kitchen are great. Beautiful green lawns. Kids had a ball on the jumping pillow. Owner are helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Don’t stay in Villa 2 as other people (checking in & checking out) think that your villa is the reception area/ office building. I had to handle a lot of enquires & had people knocking on my Villa door throughout the duration of our stay. I also became very familiar with the boom gate as many people were confused about having to use their key to leave and in most cases just handed me their keys to unlock the gate & place into the nearby drop box for them.

Two families traveling together. Rented a cabin for five. Two queen beds and a futon. Two separate rooms for the couples and a futon for the kid. The cabin was very tiny. The only toilet is an ensuite via one of the double rooms. This led to several very uncomfortable situations during our stay.We have two vehicles and had to leave one out on beside the main road for the night because of a very strict one car per cabin rule. However, the ute with the twin axel trailer parked at the cabin beside us was allowed? Took up waay more room than two small hatchbacks.We were traveling from overseas and internet connection was very important to us. They advertise wifi on the booking site. However, upon arrival, we found out this was not true at all. No internet connection is available at all. When we asked about it at the office, we were told to email the owners. But couldn't. Not until we had left, and then what was the point? The room we slept in smelt of mold, and although the bed was comfortable, the toilet situation definitely made things awkward. We ended up gaining a key for the communal toilet block, which is kept locked the entire time, but only after stating actual anxiety issues. The entire camp is under camera surveillance, and the rules and the $200 fees" for breaking them left a very oppressive feeling. We booked for two nights

Park was beautiful, well kept.My 2 year old loved talking to the birds on the property.

Just finished a 6 night stay here for the Elvis festival. As always a relaxing stay in a quiet well maintained park. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming.
