Hillcrest Merimbula

Had a really lovely two-night stay here. Room was really pleasant and relaxing and I love how they are upgrading the hotel, working with the charming parts of its history to enhance it instead of totally erasing the retro motor inn vibes. It was also great that there were pet friendly rooms available as I had my dog with me. The outdoor facilities are really nice, and I enjoyed the fancy loose leaf teas. But the view is the star! Such a lovely outlook.

Had an amazing few nights here! Can’t recommend it enough. Amazing views, incredible breakfast (best croissants and yoghurt ever), great tennis courts and fire pit. Stayed in the crest apartment which was beautifully renovated and super comfy bed. The staff are all super friendly and helpful too x

I spent a long weekend at the Hillcrest for my partner's birthday recently and could not recommend more highly. From the moment we arrived, we felt instantly at home and were massively impressed, not only by the property itself but also by the team.Molly at the front desk was a complete delight and ensured that we had absolutely everything we needed - from extra napkins and cutlery for a picnic to ice buckets for drinks by the pool.The property itself has been renovated with a great deal of care and we loved that it takes all the best of 80s Australiana and reinterprets it with a fresh - and charming - twist. Literally everywhere I looked had some kind of thoughtful detail whether it was a vintage poster or the beautiful sunny nooks in the bar/breakfast space.I can't wait to return to the Hillcrest soon and would highly encourage anyone considering a trip to lock it in.

This motel is an absolute hidden gem - modern, clean, fresh and with views to die for. I have never stayed at a motel before and usually frequent 5-star hotels and needed a place to stay on a NSW - VIC road trip. Found Hillcrest online and instantly was drawn to its modern take on an old school experience and was absolutely blown away when I arrived. The service was excellent, warm, and welcoming. The room (I stayed in the 100% renovated room with a modern bathroom) was out of a magazine - fresh white linens, stone, earthy tones and designs and a balcony overlooking the ocean with a perfect sunrise. Complete mini bar and free parking - it was perfect and highly recc. anyone staying in the area to stay here, you won't want to leave!

Felt like the home away from home.Enjoyed waking up every morning with our breakfast & coffees and simply enjoying the magnificent view from the apartment (self contained) we had throughout our stay.Room amenities and furnishings were of great quality and certainly well thought of. Loved the bed and linen, washing machine and dryer was very convenient.Thoroughly enjoyed staying at Hillcrest - certainly more than a motel. Most definitely recommend!

This now is one of my fav places to stay in. Just loved tho whole experience in this motel. The ambience, service and breathtaking views from the room, everything top notch and no leas than a 5-star experience.Special mention to the owners for simple yet beautiful change over to the rooms. Interiors will definitely surprise you.More worthy than what we paid for.

We had the most amazing experience at the Hillcrest! We booked last minute and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. We felt lucky to find such a great hotel that was dog friendly! The room was super clean & decorated beautifully, the bed was comfy and the view was amazing (we loved watching the sunrise over the beach!)

Stopped over for a night on our way up to Sydney. As soon as we came in the service was great very friendly staff throughout the motel from kitchen to front desk. The rooms are newly renovated and the view is amazing over the harbour. Highly recommended

We had a great stay for one night. Room was lovely. Calming decor colours. We had a fantastic view of Merimbula from the room. It was very relaxing to sit on the balcony at night looking over the water. Totally enjoyed our stay. There was no air-conditioning in the room, only an overhead fan. Wasn't a problem as the weather wasn't hot but might be on a typical scorching aussie day.

Stayed 2 nites for Merimbula Jazz, impressed by the breakfast experience; simple yet artistic & the incredible view that goes with it is priceless. Hillcrest is a class above all the motels we have been. The staff are friendly & courteous.
