Peter and his team have built and extended a house in Mc Crae on avery steep and challenging site that other builders didn,t want to touch.We are extremely happy with the resulting home. We highly recommend him as an experienced and caring builder.

In 2012 my wife and I were lucky enough to purchase two blocks of land side by side in Rye with magical views stretching from Cape Schanck across Arthur’s seat and all the way to Melbourne. We designed our forever home and in 2015 we set on a quest to find our builder. Having had a background in building when I was younger meant I was fastidious. We asked everyone we met about great builders on the Mornington peninsula and a few names came up but many suggested we should meet with Peter Niven. We met with Peter and others a number of times and always came back to Peter because he was just so accommodating to our needs and desires and simply did not talk rubbish and made no outrageous promises. He wanted to deliver our forever home at a reasonable time, to a high quality and at a fair price.We have now been in our dream home for just over a year and I can say hand on heart that building this home was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences of my life. Peter and his team delivered a truely exceptional home on time and dead on budget. This home will be in our family for many generations into the future. It is our families sanctuary and we have Peter and his team to thank for that. In my opinion when it comes to building homes on the peninsula there is Niven Builders and then there is everyone else. We have just moved in to our bespoke/dream home and are so happy we chose Niven Builders to complete the build. Peter and his team took the time to listen and work together to achieve the best outcome for our build. Nothing was too much trouble. The consultation process during the build ensured our finished home was all we had envisioned. This included following up discussions with a written record of decisions made and pictures of items selected, so we always knew what choices we had made. I had the good fortune to come across Niven Builders when we were looking to build our new home in St Andrews Beach in 2012. Peter Niven is fantastic. I have worked with many builders in my work life and none have come close to Pete and his team. Pete said early on that he'd work hard to ensure we had a great relationship all the way through. I attended a BigPlan Walkthrough with Peter Niven (Niven Builders). It was an excellent experience. Peter and I already had a very good understanding with each other as to the floor plan for my new home. However, the time at Big Plans Melbourne was invaluable for walking through the home at scale, and talking about (for example), the positioning of the fixtures in the bathrooms. I would highly recommend taking the time to do a walk through of the floor plan (such as this) for anyone who wishes to build a new home. I would compare it to having a building and pest inspection carried out when you are considering the purchase of an established home.
