Ryan an his team at Downsouth Electrical are fantastic. This is one business I totally trust to do a professional job and do it at a competitive price. I've had two complicated air-conditioning installations done (one split, and one 14Kw Ducted) and both have been meticulously executed with real attention to detail, in the timeframe promised, and for the best price around. I wholeheartedly recommend them on every level.

Appalling and dodgy service from Ryan, would not recommended to my worst enemy. Hired to do a simple installation of a split system, after the unit was put in by Ryan, it would not start. He said it was the previous electricians fault that it was not properly wired. Ryan left in a hurry leaving a power point open and exposed, the unit outside was not properly secured, packaging was left all over the place, nothing cleaned up. We called Ryan the next day to ask him when he is going to finish his job, to which he responded aggressively and called my partner a c***. We called a professional electrician who previously connected the electricity to the room to see what the problem was. He informed us that Ryan did not hook up the wiring (which was labelled) to the fuse box which is the reason it did not start. He was not impressed with his work, completely shocked with the exposed power point and said they are dodgy and expensive. I also reviewed them on Facebook and they responded by blocking me and my post.

They were supposed to turn up on a Saturday 2 weeks ago. Received a phone call that morning and was told by Fred that there were problems on site, so may not be able to attend, but he would ring me later in the day. Waited until five o'clock, no phone call, I haven't been contacted since. Great way to run a business. Found a more reliable sparky now.

I had work done in my previous house couple of years back. I got very frustrated due to some dodgy works. Firstly, they quoted for dozen different works by an elderly person who seemed reasonable to me. He said will need to drill hole thru cavity brick wall so will be expensive job. And then ended up not drilling that hole and installing a big ugly round conduit in lounge room. In another room I needed a power point installation. Ryan sent an apprentice who ended up causing short circuit after lot of mucking around. Safety switch keep tripping off once we use that. After that it took 9 months to come back and fix that problem (after many phone calls to accomplish rest of the incomplete works). At that time he agreed to come with increased price than original quote. After all these problems I did not complain too much as finally they finished the work which took around 10 months. Oh, by the way, after they left I found that many roof insulation batts ware taken off scattered here there, they never put them back.. I guess that is five star dodgy work overall. Moneywise it was not too expensive at that time. But, imagine how much money I wasted in heating cooling until I found that out after 20 months.

Got an split system installed, very nice ppl.but unfortunately the air-conditioner stopped working wothwi 2days. 1600 and this happens. It was installed b4 Xmas now it's still not working n we haven't had any one cone and look at it or attempt to fix it. Really annoyed at this.... Nice ppl , dunno if it was the person who was his apprentice who fkd up but not happy

Two years ago we had a wall-mounted air conditioner installed by Down South Electrical. The experience was good and the air conditioner continued working well until March. When trying to contact Ryan for repairs he ignores my calls, and doesn't call back when he promised. He finally sent another repair person to do repairs; this worked for a few days but then broke again. He is no longer answering my calls.Do not do business with this company; if something goes wrong you will not be helped.

For anyone needing any electrical work done, Ryan and his team are very professional and the quality of work is great. The guys were on time and very thorough with there work! I would highly recommend these guys. Very reasonable priced also - you wont be disappointed! :)

It was December 2018 and was glad to get Ryan’s team in to do two split system Aircon installs. After having his Father out to do the quote. The lads Ryan had with him seemed great at first until i left them to it and went to work.First Aircon in bedroom was supplied by me due to wanting a wifi unit.The outside unit was definitely put up not using a spirit level. 1.5degrees on the piss, only found that out due to the vibration through the wall.The vibration is not his fault that Fujitsu’s fault.The drain on this one has been put across the outside wall and into the drainpipe. Not surewhy, when it would have looked better going straight onto the roof. You now see this ugly grey & white pipe against an orange wall every time you pull into the drive. Ryan does not take feedback well either by the way.The second unit in the lounge was put up by Ryan himself, where i asked for it. Not sure if it was an oversite but a drain he put up goes level to the outside wall & does mot runaway. It leaks into the lounge where i now have a bucket.The other problem was the pipes were routed right across the path of the access door in the roof space. Just asking for problems. ThanksI’ve asked for him back to move it to a better location and was happy to pay but has made several excuses. No more contact for months after saying “I haven’t forgot”.If you have a simple split to put in and you get him on a day his not rushed, your fine.The phone will ring out on his wife phone if you ring the website and now he has removed his Facebook account in the last month which also should tell you something.Be aware, its a real shame.
