Whoever wrote in these reviews that it’s the owner who wrote the good reviews is a real @&%#er. We are from the South Coast, not remotely related to this place and we were so happy with our meal, drinks and the atmosphere. On a random Tuesday night during winter, the place was completely full of happy people drinking pitchers of cocktails. I had the Sangria which was delicious. We also had a very yummy pina colada. Nachos with pulled beef and a large guacamole on the side were really good, and the meat on our ribs was falling off the bone. It was very very good. We’ll look forward yo come back when we’re in Yamba next.

The service from all staff, in particular ‘Cookie’ the owner, was probably one of the best I’ve experienced to date. To add, incredible food and cocktails. Beautiful and laid back atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend a restaurant more

Had a lovely night here, the cocktails were wonderful, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic! The owner came to pour our drinks as we finished them and tell us about the home grown ingredients, as well as offering us some of their chili sauce which was incredible! They checked in on us regularly and we felt comfortable in such a friendly environment. We will definitely be visiting again and again!!!

I just loved the food at this place. I often find Mexican restaurant food quite bland, this place was everything but. Home made chilli sauce to die for. I got sizzling steak that was tender and tasty. Highly recommended.

An amazing venue with great service, high quality food and a lovely atmosphere.The food was delicious, a great range of drinks and we could sit with our dog outside who they brought a bowl of water.Staff were also very friendly and polite.

All our meals were amazing. The staff and owner were very friendly and looked after us. Great to know they use there own fresh produce when they can.

I had a great night at The Mexican with some friends the other night, firstly the food is incredible and possibly the best Mexican I’ve ever had! It’s traditional flavours with good presentation and very moreish dishes are 5 star. The service is friendly and enjoyable with good humour and banter from the staff but also also very curtious and accomodating.The atmosphere is also great, it has a rustic vibe with the bar and booths reminding me of an old western saloon. It’s certainly an experience and perfect for all foodie’s! Definitely will go back next time I’m in Yamba.

Stayed in Yamba for a weekend away and was delighted to find this gem. We love Mexican food and have visited many restaurants. The difference with this place - the food is super fresh. You can actually taste the difference. The owner is passionate about his business and went out of his way to explain the specials and some details on how he gets his produce - some of it proudly grown by himself. If our stomachs had been bigger we would have gotten their Vegans Nightmare special, but knowing we wouldn't finish it, opted for smaller and lighter meals. I had the Fish Taco special - 3 fresh soft tacos with the best perch I've ever tasted. The salad was super fresh, not overdressed with oily dressings. This was a delight to eat. The young waitresses and bar tender were pleasant and full of life - it's nice to see people happy to work. Thanks for a great feed. We'll be back next time we visit.
