Amazing food and excellent service by the team! Had a long day hiking at Cradle Mt and arrived with no reservation but was able to get a table thanks to the friendly staff.Ordered 2 2-course meals with a side to share. Dishes were plated beautifully; lamb rack was cooked to perfection and had the best Pork Cotoletta that was crispy on the outside and moist inside.

Fantastic and friendly service. Good food. The salt & pepper squid was superb, freshwater trout was so tasty, salmon was really delicious with its sauce and baked vege. Warm and beautiful ambience. Good cup of cappucino. Creme brulee really taste of the lavender. I recommend this restaurant.

Nice and cozy restaurant in a beautiful bush setting with really lovely views. The service is great with friendly and attentive staff. That’s where most of the stars come from. Unfortunately the food is very underwhelming. I knew about the small portions from previous reviews. But the quality was also so so. The Tasmanian scallops were tiny and didn’t really taste all that fresh (as if from a frozen bag). The carpaccio was good but overcooked. Some of the pieces were more well done than medium rare. Should have warned me about the dessert. The creme caramel looks and tastes like it’s been tipped out of a package. The drinks menu was quite interesting and varied at least. If not for the beautiful surrounds, I would really have balked at the price I paid. Not sure if I’d eat here again though. I’d just get my drinks at the guest lounge.

Amazing food and service! Went for 2 2-course meal and was fully satisfied. Thank you James for the wonderful explanation of the dishes. Ordered lamb rump and pork cotoletta that was perfectly cooked and plated. Will definitely return on my next visit to Tasmania.

We stayed that Wilderness Village and booked the restaurant on one of the nights to enjoy some local dining after a fabulous day of hiking. The dining room was comfortable and relaxed, staff we friendly, if a little inexperienced. We chose the 3 course menu selecting sautéed mushrooms (great flavour and generous serve for a starter!) and crayfish chawanmushi (unusual texture and bland flavour) as starters. Olive oil poached ocean trout (rich in flavour, heavy sauce, underwhelming vegetables and grains) and pan roasted chicken breast (a little dry and bland) for mains. Ordered caramelized French toast (more of a breakfast item than dessert, but lovely) and smores (shortbread was too hard to cut through, berries and ganache may have fared better if layered with a bed of marshmallow rather than the unusual construct presented. An overall nice dining experience on a wintery night. The quiet formal dining setting is lovely for a quiet adult experience, does not really cater for noisy, hungry kids.

The food was overall good and price was acceptable. The view from the restaurant was exceptional. We found the mains (salmon and duck) portion sizes a little small and the dessert portion too big. The restaurant had also made mistake with the booking time for us. Service could be more attentive and friendly, especially when it wasn’t busy. It took sometime to get someone to take our order.

Absolutely perfect from start to finish. The three course dinner is under priced for the quality and the amazing flavours that showcase Tasmania's offerings perfectly. The staff are amazing, friendly, funny and professional, special thanks to James for making our evening enjoyable and rememberable, and also to Charlie and our chef for perfect service.

Outstanding. One of the nicer meals I have had in a long time. The trevalla starter was so fresh, and then the lamb for main was also delicious. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and they had a great option for her also. The two guys bar tendering and waiter-ing were top notch. Really friendly and exceptional service.

We were very disappointed with the restaurant. We were really looking forward to this meal, but all in all it really wasn't great. The good... The staff tending bar was excellent, there was a good range of drinks, the location and decor were great and the atmosphere overall was excellent. The bad... Our server was perfectly polite but wasn't up to the job. He provided wrong information on a couple of occasions. The meals were only ok, and we all felt that they were overpriced and underwhelming. We were expecting a fine dining experience, and we certainly paid a price commensurate with that. Meals were tiny (in line with fine dining) but the meals themselves were an extreme disappointment. We had 3 of the 4 available main meals and they were all rated as a disappointment. Our favourite part of the meal was the mashed potatoes!
