ABC Electrical

I have now had several faulty appliances repaired by ABC Electrical and have found their charges and turn around time reasonable.When an appliance breaks down, out of warranty, there are only 2 choices; buy a new one (expensive) or get it looked at by an expert who can advise whether it is worth saving.ABC have saved me heaps.

My grandma’s experience: washer wasn’t working and called up, sounded like they knew what they were doing. Charged 100 just to look at it and 70 just to lie about its condition. Said there was nothing wrong with it. Turns out they didn’t actually check everything, because when we opened it up ourselves, we found what the issue was... and we aren’t the supposed experts. Go somewhere else honestly, if they can’t be bothered to even check everything and then charge you for it

The proprietor of this business has been operating for decades. He works from a very premises with the budget of the customer in mind.From the first contact on the phone you are reassured of the accurate detail and knowledge of a vast array of different appliances .I have been assured of a speedy turn around to repair my dishwasher with my budget in mind.If you are more interested in an inexpensive job done professionally without over the top luxury packaging this is your solution.

My mother had an awful experience dealing with one of the service repair persons who just rebuffed her that they did their service properly on her Asko dryer.She also had her Asko dish washing machine kept for a long time (1 month), She didn’t receive a bill for this probably due to the lengthy period but then also the lock doesn’t click unlock on it.Her washing machine also has suffered similar problems, “there’s always an excuse” she says about waiting periods.I have since investigated with Asko that this repairer is not the designated repairer for Asko appliances. Therefore it’s logical to assume they don’t have the service repair manuals for Asko nor can be supplied specialist parts.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Would give 0 stars if possible. Was recommended this place for a warranty repair by manufacturer, have since written a complaint letter to manufacturer suggesting they NEVER send anyone here again. ABC had my fridge for THREE MONTHS and still didn't fix the problem. In that time I never once received a call informing me of progress with the repair, and every time I called I got a different answer (and now know that most responses were lies). When they told me the fridge was fixed and I went to collect it they had lost (more likely just stolen) my original power supply cable and instead offered me 3rd party cables or their shop cable" which was in horrible condition and not at all fit to replace the $60 cable I originally had. After nearly 30 minutes of waiting they eventually offered me a cable from another customers item waiting to be repaired and not wishing to stay in the waste management facility that is their office I took it and left

A complete joke !My freezer broke down and was advised by the reseller to call ABC Electrical to do the repair.A technician came out and determined it needed a new part. Installed part, but this was not the problem. Another technician came out and replaced another part. This also was not the problem.ABC then requested I bring the freezer into them for repair. Really, how do I do that, the thing is the size of a small car.After three call outs and numerous parts installed, the freezer is still in the same state as it was when I first called.The freezer still does not work !!They then send me a bill for $748.00 !!! for not fixing the problem.Good luck to anyone relying on ABC Electrical fix their appliance.

The electrician arrived an hour late.They looked at our washing machine. Said that it was most likely an inlet valve,if not a new power board. 1 weeks later part arrives, 2 weeks later they have booked us in.Day they should arrive, the boss calls and said his electrician was sick, can't come but has arranged for a new electrician to come the next day. Next day arrived an hour late and at the wrong address, second time they did that. Electrician said to fill him in. I said it was intake valve or power board, he immediately said that the washing machine was to old to bother with a power board. WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THIS THE FIRST TIME!!And of course inlet valve didn't fix it. The electrician took the valve so we didn't have to pay for that too.So it cost me $210 to discover that the machine wasn't worth fixing and wasted 2weeks.Also the owner is very rude and unprofessional. He hung up on me. Wouldn't use this company EVER again and suggest no one else does,or you will be very disappointed.$25 of that money went to looking at my stove.15 minutes.

I was told that ABC was the only local agent for Ariston brand appliances. Which is unfortunate because I have now been waiting two months for an oven thermostat. I suspect that it hasn't been ordered but as noone bothers checking and calling back as promised I have no idea. Certainly would not recommend them.

Our Ilve stove fan element stopped working, so we called ABC, the reommended repairer.The ABC Repairman came 3x.He broke the thermostat (for which we had to pay) and we were later billed $714.We sent a letter with the cheque requesting a more reasonable account.The cheque was not presented ( we had not unreasonably thought that ABC had not bothered to bill us given the problems we had ).Soon after the repair, the element came loose necessitating an additional $100 repair cost which was performed by another repairer.We had another demand from ABC for $714 more than 2 years later.This time we again, by detailed letter, requested a more reasonable account amount given the problems we had experienced.Our next contact was through the collection service with a $200 premium for their costs.We paid this in full.We were quite appalled by ABCs gall in costing us what, in effect, was more that $1000 for the replacement of a fan element that has a list price of $79.This whole episode for us was an expensive mistake in not checking consumer reviews prior to engaging a service.
