I've been training here for a year. It is a very friendly environment with great coaches and a family feel. My 10 yo daughter also attends class. BJJ has helped her confidence and her fitness too! If you're at all interested in trying out a martial art give Raony a call!

Professor Raony has been amazing with my son teaching him BJJ. I really appreciate the focus on technique and doing things properly and it’s reflected in the competitions when all the GB kids have high points in their fights. GB Townsville is such a caring, fun and committed group to train with.

I've been attending Gracie Barra Townsville with a local rugby league team, the Western Lions, we've been doing sessions with prof. Raony that help incorporates the BJJ styles for us to adapt into us playing rugby league. great family environment, caters to different levels of skill and fitness. very welcoming team. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Townsville area

This is an awesome location (air-con) with an even better atmosphere. The people that train here are welcoming and knowledgeable. I have never had a bad time there, even after hard training everyone leaves with a smile on their face. I recommend Gracie Barra and Professor Raony to anyone looking to learn jiu jitsu, self defense, fitness or wanting a close-knit community.

No more stinky old tatamis and moldy walls for me. This academy is premium class and the best Townsville has to offer. The tatami is brand new, the location is great, the professor is superb and the other students are equally as passionate about BJJ and dedicated to development. Everyone is so friendly which makes this the perfect learning environment for a beginner. Highly recommend it.

It's the best Gym in town. Both professors are amazing with my Step kids and the knowledge and teaching skills are second to none. They spend time with each individual to help them understand the techniques and improve their abilities. The gracie Barra Community is extremely supportive and I would not send my step kids to any other gym now. My fiancé also trains there, and he has never been so motivated to go to training everyday, as long as we've been together. Professor pushes him to reach his full potential in such a professional and guided way, that i can only watch in astonishment how much he has learned since he started training there. Easy 5 out of 5 stars all the way!!
