Ryans IGA Torquay

We live in Torquay and use IGA , although generally dearer than Coles or Woolworths ( all within walking distance ) our daughter a 52 two year old , who works in oncology ( nurse) and is a professional counsellor , went with her 20 year daughter to get a (one) bottle of wine . The IGA manager ( who looked younger than our granddaughter) said she needed to see I.D. My daughter was paying , the so called manager , said they were were acting suspiciously ( talking about what bottle to buy) . Our granddaughter had to walk back to our place to get I.D. My daughter questioned the IGA rep as to what was going on ( calmly and reasonably ) , the manager ( to the chargrin of other staff ) asked my daughter to leave the store as she was looking at her in a funny manner . So totally stunned UNBELIEABLE.Get the feeling all just adds to price gouging , give some unqualified junior , a badge and it’s a cheap manager in name only .Training and a lack of interpersonal skills so EVIDENT

Love this store.. Great range of goodies..even a pick and mix lolly section.. You don't see those around much anymore. This shop reminds Franklin's supermarket I work at over 20 years ago in Bellarine Villiage. Always looks neat and tidy.

I always shop here when I come to Torquay not sure if the cheapest or the dearest but it is certainly one of the old school shopping centres in the area before the population boom staff are generally very nice and are helpful

I shop here alot. Why did you pull down the covid-19 safe barrier between the staff and the customers? Could you please put them back up. I wish to feel a little bit safer in your supermarket.
