Coolum Baywatch Apartments

Overall a nice location with beach views, however was a bit disappointed with the apartment. Would only recommend if they are on sale.Pros:- great location - across the road from the beach and lots of restaurants and cafes.- Good pool- Air conditioned and has fans- Private balcony- Washing machine and dryer- Easy check in and check out- WifiCons:- Bathroom was dirty- shower and bath were mouldy- Strong mould/damp smell- Ant infestation in bathroom- Aircon leaked so much we had to put a bucket underneath

We choose to stay here as we are looking to purchase a unit in the complex. I contacted onsite manager Gene and asked if we could specifically book the unit we are looking to buy.I received a reply email at 7.30pm which shows how hard Gene works and how available he is to help guests. Our stay only proved to confirm this over and over.Gene allowed us to take our room earlier before check in time which was so lovely and he booked my son into the same floor level when I requested a second booking.Walking into the apartment, the air con was on and so lovely and cool. We were also given a second room key so that air con didn’t have to go off each time we went out (key tag slot operated).The apartment was so clean. As a property manager I am often disappointed to find rooms dirty but definitely not so here.I had read all reviews prior to going so I was aware there is no reception parking. Gene explained you can park to the side of the driveway during check in and we also witnessed many people temporarily double parking across the road so it’s really not as bad as it’s made out to be especially as the complex is only 19 apartments.Reception is a little bit dark and not as modern as others and unfortunately the air con in this area is under repair so check in and check out was very stuffy but it’s being fixed this week. These things happen and really how much time do you want to hang in reception!Using the bathroom off this area, again spotlessly clean. A real credit as it’s shared with the amazing restaurant called My Place - a 10% discount off your bill when you stay here and omg the food is outstanding!The pool area is private unlike the Beach Retreat which is on show for anybody passing by. The spa is being replaced soon and there is plans to redo the pool. Hardly saw anybody there so almost like having your own.Our unit (15) could do with a renovation but in saying that it really was comfortable and the view amazing. New leather couch with fold out... did I mention the view was amazing? The bed is a little worn out which we plan to replace should we buy it along with a remodel. It really is great, just needs an update in tiles and bathroom.We used the convection oven and it’s great. Dishwasher drawer a nice touch. The fridge kept everything soooooo cold.Water pressure in the shower was brilliant although had to fill the spa with the shower head rather than bath tap as it has seized and one spa jet not working. We didn’t bother management about it because it really didn’t affect us at all and we were so thrilled with our stay. Washing machine and dryer worked well. Fan squeaked in bedroom but just needs replacing.The bathroom and bedroom doors are slatted which I understand for ventilation however not as much privacy as we would like. Again we would look at changing this - more for the bathroom than bedroom. I actually really liked the bedroom being tucked away as I’m a light sleeper and it was nice and dark in the morning - perfect for sleep in.Designated car parks for each unit and they are really well sized so not sure why some people have complained of no park. Clearly some guests have doubled up. The parks are well marked and ours was right near the lift.We enjoyed time on the roof top which again was so accessible to our unit and number 13 and 14. It’s a shame that the rendered walls haven’t been replaced with glass on this level as it cuts out a lot of the view and there’s a huge section of rooftop over the half wall that is wasted as you can’t get to it. Would love to see this turned into a bigger available space.Wifi has been a problem brought up in lots of reviews and it is correct but speaking to Gene it should be sorted very soon (good old Telstra has mucked up the order - I think we have all been there).This complex really is location, location, location so if you want stunning ocean views don’t book anywhere else. It was sooooo quiet which we loved as we didn’t want to be around party goersGene made us feel very welcome and he was incredibly knowledgeable.

Apartment is clean, right next to the beach with many cafes and restaurants within 5-10min walk

Extremely disappointed. Came here for a 3 day break with our baby and was given a musty dirty room, floors not mopped, cups had lipstick on them and residue, dishwasher broken, Foxtel didn't work, carpet had old popcorn on it, air con unit had mould in it, door tracks filthy, cutlery drawers had grease etc inside. Bed extremely old and uncomfortable. Told management and was told to expect a call from the owner, never received such call so we checked out first thing the next day and still no call after a week. We called them and they argued with us and refused to give a refund for remaining 2 days. Not even an apology. Nice view but very old rooms that need updating. Would not recommend.

Place was really great, service was good, hotel was clean and comfortable. Really good price. The view from the ocean view rooms was really good.

A little dated, and the walls needed cleaning. Bath and shower stall would not suit elderly or infirm or unstable. Very well-located with good pools.

Lovely apartment set up really nicely with every convenience. View straight out to the beach. Great facilities and very friendly and accommodating proprietor. Reasonably priced. Handy to shops and cafes. Would highly recommend.

Couldn't fault this place ,incredibly friendly lady on reception ,couldn't be more helpful, great to have underground parking. Stayed in one of the back units no 17 which was right off the lift and very quiet,still had an amazing view,very well designed apartment with everything we needed. Enjoyed our happy hour at cafe in front everything $5 great value,if we come back to Australia would definitely stay here again,highly recommend it .Many thanks Carol

Recently spent 11 nights at Baywatch. Our unit was recently refurbished and was nice and clean. The location of these units are great, underground parking and good views of the beach. The managers were friendly and accommodating. The cost was very reasonable and the extra touches (awesume coffee machine) was appreciated. Would defineatly stay again.

The room was very comfortable and adequately appointed. Each balcony was private and had a good view of the beach. The resort had a roof top area with Bbq facilities, tables, chairs and partially covered with sails. There's a restaurant on site which is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. There is also secure onsite parking, which is good because the location of the resort is walking distance to many cafes, clubs and shops.
