Sorta saddens me to see it in the state it is in but it’s great it’s kept for everyone to see. Obviously it’s more cool to see it in person if you have seen the moves it has been filmed in. I personally wouldn’t of cared to see it if I hadn’t.

So cool you can see a movie prop in the main street. You can't do anything with it other than take a put but still cool

I loved the movie so it was cool to see this memorabilia just beside the main street. More could be done to preserve and promote it though.

It's a quirky attraction but it's ruined by having the toilet sheds behind it.

There are some reviews here that have inaccurate information stating that the spaceship is an art sculpture or a model from a Star Wars movie. It is actually the full-size spaceship stage used in the movie Pitch Black" which filmed in Coober Pedy in 2000. It was bought by a local businessman after filming was completed and remains there as an attraction."

Great for a photo stop. Now there is a Do Not Climb" sign that we couldn't step on it. Right in the middle of the town

Spaceship at Coober PedyVisited on 5/6/2019No, this spaceship has nothing to do with Australia's participation in space program, neither did it fall the sky. If you think you are at Woomera Rocket Park, you are wrong again. The space ship is the set used for the external shots of the crashed transporter in the movie Pitch Black, filmed in Coober Pedy. It was bought by a local businessman soon after filming was completed.Since then the spaceship is sitting outside the Opal Cave store, set in semi-Martian surrounding. It is a pity that a pop-up caravan from the neighbour is parked so close to Spaceship and spoils a good snap shot.
