Douglas Riverside Hotel Accommodation

Jane was a lovely host. Her bread we received on arrival was hot and delicious. The fridge and kitchen were well set up and we found everything we needed. We enjoyed the house and it's view to the river. Everything was clean. On our last day as Jane did not have anyone coming in until the day after we were able to stay until we caught the coach to Warrnambool We appreciated Jane's flexibility.

We, (a group of 6 friends, 3 couples), stayed in the absolute riverside house and it is absolutely beautiful. It is very true to it's name and is as close to the river as you are going to get. The view from the living area is stunning and so relaxing.Jane is a fabulous host, the house and rooms were spotless and the little added extra touches were very thoughtul.We would definitely recommend a stay at Douglas Riverside.Thank you Jane

We spent a lovely three nights here, a beautiful place right on the river. We watched blue heron collecting worms in the lawn for its family. Such a relaxing time for us, so close to shops and walks along the wharf. We will be visiting again. The owners make you so welcome with home made bread and chocolates on arrival. We had the most beautiful time here, aside from the fact that the room was very cosy and impeccable, and not to mention the perfect location and beautiful garden riverside front, what truly made our stay special was Jane and Rod’s hospitality and kindness. We truly and wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful hotel, the most precious of gems on our Australia trip.

We had a lovely stay here and couldn't fault it. We enjoyed a beautifully furnished self-contained apartment in a gorgeous location and the hosts are very warm, friendly and hospitable. Delicious home made bread and the fridge filled with chocolates and condiments was a welcome bonus. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed at Douglas Riverside for two nights in February 2022.It is ideally located along the river and close to all the shops, cafes and restaurants.We stayed in the Garden House and this was absolutely wonderful. The large lounge, living and dining area is bathed in glorious light and has the most spectacular views out over lush gardens and the river. The only problem is: you won’t want to leave the house!Jane was an excellent hostess and left a well-stocked fridge and even a loaf of her delicious home-made bread.The garden house was perfect for us as one couple but, having three en-suite queen size rooms, it would be great for small groups or families as well.The bedroom was a great size and the bed linens and towels were of luxury quality, as were the appointments in the bathroom.I would highly recommend you choose Douglas Riverside as your base if ever visiting Port Fairy.

Stayed in the Riverside house and it was so well appointed. Fabulous position on the river and close to town. Very welcoming with fresh bread, flowers and many extras.
