Yarra Heights Dance Academy

We have been a part of Yarra Heights Dance Academy family for 19 years and cannot recommend them highly enough. The teachers are all wonderful - they truly care about the students and make them feel valued. Dance school is very professionally run but at the same time provides a fun, supportive and encouraging environment no matter what your ability. Great range of dance styles offered and for all age groups - from Toddlers to Adults. Also great to have a number of boys at the studio too.Everyone is made to feel like part of the Academy's 'family'. Studio has a really community feel which is a credit to the owner, teachers and staff.Facilities are great - spacious dance studios (3) and the sprung floors are great.My girls would never consider dancing anywhere else and we cannot recommend highly enough.

My daughter has been a student at Yarra Heights Dance Academy for over eight years now and I could not be happier about our choice of dance school. The teachers are always encouraging, professional and genuinely care about the students. Likewise all the students, parents and other staff members are extremely friendly. There is a real sense of community, especially when it comes to things like the concert, exams and competitions.During our time with Yarra Heights Dance Academy my daughter has tried at least five different dance styles and undertaken numerous exams (with absolutely no pressure). She has also had the opportunity to perform in charity events and competitions. The quality of these performances astounds me each and every time, especially the year end concert.My daughter has made many friends and gained so much more confidence from being a member of the Yarra Heights Dance Academy family. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

My daughter has danced with Yarra Heights for almost six years and absolutely loves it! A lovely dance school, an amazing range of dance classes, excellent expertise and opportunities provided. They have managed to keep the spirit of dance going even through COVID with digital classes... We are so grateful to have still had the opportunity to dance this year and to stay part of the team at Yarra Heights. Thanks to Louise, all the wonderful teachers and staff that have made this happen.

Yarra Heights Dance Academy is such a great dance school! We were looking a few years back for something for our toddler to try a few different styles of dancing and found that Yarra Heights offer a class that combines jazz, ballet and tumbling for the little ones! It’s been so great for her over the past couple of years, it’s been lovely watching her confidence grow! The facilities are lovely and the teachers are so wonderful, caring, knowledgeable and really great at what they do! My son has also joined the acrobatics class this year too and is absolutely loving it! I highly recommend for anyone looking for a high quality dance school!

Our daughter has been dancing at the Yarra Heights Dance Academy for 10 years and she has thoroughly enjoyed every year. I have seen her grow and develop over the years into a confident dancer.The studio is a great space for the students to dance. The teachers are kind, caring, professional and encouraging and I feel really bring out the best in their students.There is also a great sense of community amongst the students, parents and teachers. Especially in recent times when the students have had to move to online learning. The dance family has been very supportive during this time.I would happily recommend Yarra Heights Dance Academy to anyone looking for a dance studio for their child.

We love Yarra Heights!! We have been with Yarra Heights for 7 years now and have loved every minute. There’s always something fun and engaging going on and the owner & teachers are very passionate about their dancers and school. The end of year concert is by far my favourite event, it’s done so professionally and blows us away each and every year. There is also lots of different opportunities available to all students and they get to attend some exciting event outside of our dance school. I highly recommend this dance school also for its very broad range of dance styles & programs on offer.

My daughter has been dancing at YHDA since she was 3, she is now 12. We couldn't be happier with this dance school. The academy caters for all ages, from Tiny Tots through to Adults. It offers classes in all styles of dance as well as other classes, such as Acro and Musical Theatre and Singing Lessons.YHDA is great for those wanting to dance for fun/socially and for those wanting to take their dancing to the next level with the academy offering examinations, private lessons and solo/duo/troupe performance opportunities, as well as VCE/VET Dance. The academy also runs an Assistant Teacher program for older students.The studio has three rooms with sprung flooring. The academy is professionally run and community minded. All staff are lovely and the studio brings a sense of belonging for all students and parents.The academy has done an amazing job setting up and running online classes until the students can return to the studio.I have watched my daughter improve as a dancer over the years but she has also gained so much more, like learning to focus, to believe in herself, to never give up and to follow her dreams. She has also made so many friendships. We are looking forward to seeing what her teen years bring at the academy.

Yarra Heights Dance Academy is a highly professional dance school where my daughter has been a student for almost 13 years. With dedicated, supportive teachers and staff, excellent facilities and an incredibly diverse learning program that caters for all abilities and dance styles, we could not find a more ideal dance environment. Students have the opportunity to extend their dance experience by being involved in troupe classes and competitions, examinations, dance teaching, and the incredible end-of-year concert, all under the guidance of committed, skilful and creative teachers. In addition, the Academy organises fun, sociable activities that help connect the students throughout the year, both young and old. Most importantly, my daughter has always felt cared for and encouraged by this warm, nurturing community where she has formed wonderful friendships and developed into a confident dancer. While this has been a tough year for everyone, weekly online classes have been an excellent platform for students to stay connected and continue their dance training while waiting to resume normal dance classes. Highly recommended!

My daughter has been attending Yarra Heights Dance Academy for more than 5 years now and we couldn't be happier! The teachers are highly skilled choreographers who are patient with dancers of varying skill levels and challenge them to achieve their full potential. The whole community is so welcoming that even I decided that I felt comfortable to take up dance lessons myself even though I don't have any prior dance experience. We cherish the friendships we've built over the years through YHDA and find we learn a lot while having fun! We were attending a different dance school a few years ago but are so glad we made the change.
