I’ve been meaning to come here for years, and finally got sucked in by the free birthday meal. When we walked in it was very busy and lively, a good sign the place is well-liked. Also lots of young families so knew my kids would enjoy. For my bday meal I got the beef ribs with corn bread and Mac n cheese. Best corn bread I’ve had in Australia, which reminded me of Mission BBQ in the US.The kids got Mac n cheese and the baked cheeseburger. The wife got the brisket loaded fries (so yummy) and more corn bread.Service overall was great and food was fantastic. We will be back. Thanks for the birthday meal!

Great little find, beef ribs were amazing, best chicken wings I've had anywhere. The pork rib was just over done and a bit too dry and same with the brisket, but yet still tasted great.Definitely would recommend giving the platter for 2 but bring your wallet $$

I had my lunch last Fri & finally got time to make my comments now. Beef ribs: hundred percent recommendation! Wonderful sauce topping on the ribs, so soft the meat you don't even need a knife. Corn bread: beyond human language, if it weren't for my overeating, I would definitely have more of the corn bread. Services: very nice.

# FANTASTIC BBQ IN MELBOURNE #This place had a great atmosphere, welcoming staff and of course, some of the best BBQ in Melbourne. The quirky monthly specials like a whole deboned chicken turned into a parma or a burger the size of a small child filled with BBQ goodness is a great idea. There was a feeling of excitement combined with a little bit of fear in the air over what these monumental meals would look like when they come out. Our table had some platters and the chicken parma and I have to say the whole thing was delicious. The only thing I would like different was the chicken wings and drumsticks on the platter were very sweet. I'm sure it was intended being American BBQ "

I love the free birthday dinner offer - I had a great birthday lunch here. There was a lot of food but it was so nice that I was able to finish it. The service was also lovely, including a much appreciated act of kindness for my son. If you feel you've eaten too much, which you probably will, then Port Melbourne Beach is the perfect place to walk it off afterwards :)

Food was visually beautiful but a little underwhelming. We waited quite a while for our food and saw other tables who ordered after us (one even with the same dish as us) receive their food before us. When our food arrived the chips were cold, the cheese on the Mac & cheese had solidified and the other meats were just “warm”. The beef ribs was definitely the star of the show and the only meat we felt was juicy and tender. Ordered a couple of milk shakes, which were delicious, but not quite sure they were worth the $20 a shake or the Saturday surcharge and service charge added on top of our bill.

If you're looking for a spot in Melbourne that serves up some truly exceptional barbecue, Third Wave Cafe is the place to be. This cozy little restaurant is a meat-lover's paradise, with a menu that features all sorts of slow-cooked, tender meats that are sure to leave you feeling satisfied. One of the standout dishes at Third Wave Cafe is definitely their beef ribs. These ribs are slow-cooked to perfection, with a smoky, rich flavor that's absolutely unforgettable. Each bite is packed with tender, juicy meat that practically falls off the bone. It's definitely worth mentioning that they have a variety of lamb and chicken options as well, making it a great choice for groups with different tastes. The atmosphere at Third Wave Cafe is also worth noting - it's cozy and welcoming, with a laid-back vibe that's perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the prices are very reasonable given the high quality of the food.Overall, I can't recommend Third Wave Cafe enough. If you're a fan of barbecue or just looking for a great meal in Melbourne, you won't be disappointed. And be sure to try the beef ribs - they're truly something special!

Was a little disappointed to be honest after being excited to try this place,The staff were nice and it was busy,Ordered a platter for 4 while it looked massive majority of the plate was made up of chips and onion rings with the illusions that there's heaps of meat,It's was very tight seating not comfortable or relaxed to be honest,The food was hit n miss beef ribs some where juicy and soft while others were dry and hard, didn't enjoy the meal took doggy bag home for the kids.Spent over $250 plus being charged An additional fee of $26 surcharge for a Sunday was disappointing,Overall I'm sure there are better options to spend $300on,Will I try again not to sure,

We were here today for lunch and I was impressed. The food was amazing, hot and fresh and more than enough. The service was great too. It's a busy place and is in a busy spot but it's certainly worth it.
