Anywhere along the Macalister river is a great spot. Some are only accessible by 4wd. We find Montana on the Macalister is the go to spot , and you can get there in a car.

Fantastic!! Kids, adults, older ones. Take your flotation device and enjoy a great relax or swim in the slow flowing river and gorge. Round river stones and sand.

Our regular spot. Only drawback is the occasional high winds that are destructive to tent dwellers.Great for vans though!

Beware during times of high flow, as this river moves rapidly and is very deep and should only be attempted by competent drivers/vehicles when safe to do so. There are some really lovely camping spots and picnic areas around here. The four wheel drive tracks can be very challenging and if not careful can be dangerous too due to the sheer drops. If you're in the area make sure you spend some time here as you are sure to enjoy yourself.
