V.I.P Lawns and Gardens Baldivis

I supplied some patio materials to Rob and there was a problem with some of the fabrication that was done (which my company outsources). That was our fault (via our fabricator) and I admit that and am disappointed that our fabricator let us down. The fabricator says most of the alleged problems shouldn't have caused a big issue for the install but I agreed with Rob that is wasn't good and I accept that the fabricated parts were not up to the standard I'd have hoped.Without yet knowing there was any problem though, and with Rob having only paid for a portion of the order in advance, I had my staff deliver all the materials to Rob in good faith. His association with VIP, in part, led me to believe he'd be trustworthy and I needn't worry about the balance owed being paid.When I asked him about paying the balance outstanding a week or two after the goods were delivered, he raised the fabrication problem but he had already gone ahead and installed the materials anyway, removing any opportunity I had to make things right. With no other avenue to correct matters, I tried to do what I could to offer something to Rob and agreed with him to discount quite a bit more than the value of the fabrication even though, if he'd advised me before installing, I could have had the problem rectified for a lot less cost. Believing that everything was agreed I trusted he'd pay the small amount left owing after the agreed discount, which he said he had accepted. He initially made excuses about a death in the family but has then completely ignored any communications our company has sent to him.Is this a person you want to trust to be working on your property? Someone who says one thing then does something else? Someone who leaves a problem and then tells you about it after it is too late for anything to be done? Someone who doesn't pay what they have agreed to pay?If Rob's intention was not to pay any of the balance outstanding, why did he agree to the compromise? I am hundreds of dollars out of pocket because he installed the materials rather than allowing me to fix the problem and now he is so rude as to not even reply to our emails.
