Leave your domestic life at home and wrap the natural world around you like a blanket.A blank canvas.“I know what I like, I know what I don’t like, how hard can it be?”I shudder to think of what the outcome might have been without Jose and the team @ PLOT steering the ship.Watching Jose in design mode has been fascinating. His ability to cut through the clutter and reconcile spaces is something to behold. Over the duration it has completely flipped the way I think about design.Concept after concept… In what is essentially a game of trade-offs, do you give weighting to this, or weighting to that? Exploring, deliberating, honing-in… It has been a real design journey.Jose has also introduced us to a world of materials, products, finishes, suppliers and showrooms that you’d otherwise have no idea existed.The result is EXACTLY what we were hoping for. From the blank canvas at the outset, it’s the dream result.Of course the design phase is just the beginning. When it comes to building on an extremely sloping block of land in a designated bushfire area the extent of construction input is mindboggling. We were lucky enough to have Jose and the PLOT team provide architectural services for the renovation and addition to our heritage listed terrace house. Their expertise was used from architectural design, town planning, construction documentation and builder tendering. I found the whole process to be very collaborative, with Plot understanding our ideas and translating these into functional and beautiful spaces, achieving a pared back sophistication we were seeking that preserved the heritage aspect of our property.A major positive was their knowledge and experience, meaning they helped us save money through this process by knowing what pitfalls to avoid. They also were invaluable in identifying and liaising with consulting services that you don't always think about when undertaking building project (e.g. structural engineering, environmental, surveyors, landscaping), particularly as I came into the project with no construction experience.I highly recommend PLOT for any architectural services and am even planning to work with them again on a new build holiday home in the coming years.

Jose / PLOT, worked with us to Design and Document a cost-effective extension to our existing home in Anglesea, VIC.
