Grant has gone above and beyond when school performances come up, with emergency questions and encouraging her when she lacks confidence to try. His lessons are full of positive messaging and new goals to be achieved, she always beams with confidence when she leaves.

My daughter started drum lessons with Grant 2 years ago.Although she had been playing the drums for several years, Grant has managed to significantly improve her technique and skills which has increased her confidence and abilities and most importantly her passion for music.We have now relocated to the Sunshine Coast but my daughter is so committed to her lessons with Grant that she travels to Brisbane.Grant has developed a wonderful rapport and mutual respect with my daughter.

My lessons with Grant have helped me not just become a much better drummer, but also really given me a big picture about music and how it works. He guided and prepared me with my audition for the Queensland Conservatorium and then helped me all throughout doing my Bachelor of Music to progress my drumming with approaches and concepts that I never thought I'd be doing.He has great systems that he takes you through to develop key skills and then extend them into musical concepts that you can explore on the drum set with. I now not only understand, but also play some of the technical things I've heard from professional players when previously I didn’t know what was going on..He has a lot of time for really explaining things and making sure that I get them right so I can progress in a natural and confident way with new things.

I started learning with Grant when I was in high school. From there he guided me all my way through my music degree and continuing to do so throughout my professional career.I'm now doing gigs, recording sessions and touring. He's also advising me as a drum teacher.His help has been invaluable with the direction of my drumming and writing drum parts for my various music projects as I continue to learn from him.He has such a great depth of knowledge and such a passion for music that it's infectious on us as his students. I can not recommend Grant highly enough!

Since starting up lessons with Grant I'm now playing with much more confidence, flow and musicality. He‘s exposed me to many drumming techniques, approaches and mindsets and always knows how to challenge me to get the best out of me. I’ll often think something's beyond my capabilities, but he always knows the right approach to get me moving forward. I'm playing grooves and fills now that I’d only dreamed about playing prior to getting lessons with Grant.He has such an understanding of the instrument and is able to break things down to their most basic element for teaching. I'm doing more gigs now than I ever have and bands keep calling me up as they're liking what I'm doing. That's a good thing!

When I first started lessons with Grant, I had been playing drums for a while. However so, I feel as though over the past 2 years of having him as my drum teacher I feel I’ve grown so much as a drummer. I also believe that Grants mentoring has taken my playing to the next level and allowed me to have greater confidence and professionalism when playing drums. Overall, I feel I have a built a great student-teacher relationship with Grant which I have not been able to reach with previous drum teachers. Each week I continue to learn new things and I always have so much fun in my lessons!

Studying drums with Grant has been such an awesome experience! I came to him having played drums for several years and getting lessons along the way, but knew I wanted to take my drumming much further. After sitting with Grant in that first lesson and talking to him about where I wanted to be, he put together a series of lesson plans and goals that we've been following and I'm getting closer and closer to my goals every week.He's brought out a lot of nuances within my playing and developed my technique to another level. I'm playing many of the things that I used to play but they sound so much better. He's also helped me with the ergonomics of my drumset which has made me feel so much comfortable when I sit behind the kit and more relaxed with my playing. I'm loving doing shows with my band and he’s also been helping me with techniques for recording our new songs. Thanks to Grant, my drums sound great and I'm feeling great playing them.
