Rye Boat Ramp

A great ramp with lots of parking for car and boat trailers. Very good facilities with the ramp upgrade and a second pier ,it has made it a lot easier to launch and retrieve boats ..

Toilets are clean and open all night

A visit to rye during summer isn't complete without a visit to the Carnival. Perfect at night, to see the pretty lights!

A sign said that parking is now free for cars and for the cars with trailers - but observe the correct parking areas. There's a double width ramp with two very good jetties for tying the boat while you get the car. The ramps are well maintained and the reversing area is very good. There's a boat wash down area on the Rye pier side of the ramp. A huge sign gives instructions for navigating the channel, speeds for driving watercraft close to the shore and a list of thing's you should have on the boat to comply with law (life jackets, etc). Just a personal note, I've seen lots of people riding in the back of the boat on the trip home. It fills my stomach with dread to think of what happens if there's an accident as they are often teenagers.

The rump is good but the ticketing system sucksIf you are not an IT man you can not pay and get a ticketIt can only be done with the application on your mobile or pc

Great location giving good access to the lower end of Port Phillip Bay. 3 good quality concrete ramps which is great, but very small jetty for tie up. There is also very shallow areas outside of a narrow channel making waiting off the jetty challenging.Good parking.

A very busy boat ramp that is also a magnet for over enthusiastic fisheries officers who love nothing better than to ruin your day.
