Discovery Childcare and Education

Jamie and the team do a wonderful job of maintaining the highest standards of quality education at the centre. All the educators are qualified and put in a heap of effort to make each day different for the kids. Our child joined the centre a year back and we have truly seen her grow in so many ways. It is so lovely to receive a detailed update at the end of each day. We are very grateful for everything the educators do to help our child be the best version of herself.

Has a great kindergarten program and the educators show love, patience and they help new children settle. We love the big open rooms and they have a great outdoor space where the children love to play.

Having moved around a bit & interstate from Sydney, I’ve experienced 6 different day cares, this is by far the best of all. Miles above what I experienced in Sydney city and locally in the area. Well managed, good processes and clean. They care for the kids and they don’t believe in upselling with additional activities from independent vendors, offering things that really should just be in curriculum anyway. I appreciate that a lot. It’s worth travelling a little further if needed. They also have a giant dinosaur and a teepee, the kids ride go karts around. Makes me wanna be a kid again, thanks for everything Discovery. Ryders at school now but we always drive past and have fond memories.

we recently moved from Discovery's Ringwood centre Top Kids, we have always had a wonderful experience with Discovery and highly recommend!

Beautiful facilities and lovely educators but unfortunately that’s where it ends.When we did the tour we met some great salespeople who promised the world, various programs etc. Nowadays they barely meet reasonable expectations.EXCEPTIONALLY high turnover of staff and centre managers. We had attended since 2019 and in that time we have had 9 Centre Managers. The owners and management of the centre are unpleasant and unprofessional. It is evident that they are focused on what makes it into their pockets as opposed to the genuine wellbeing of the children, families and their educators.We have raised several concerns in the past which have always been done in a polite manner and attempted to provide constructive criticism. Rather than taking this on board, they seem to take it personally and use it against you. They do not want to hear any feedback.At 4:50pm on a Friday evening, I was sent an email from the “CEO” ceasing my child’s enrollment due to “multiple staff complaints”. My child was due to attend on Monday.This professional CEO did not have the decency to call and chat to me about it. Lucky I checked my emails. When I managed to speak with this individual, he could not provide me with ONE example.It is exceptionally sad that the company has used us providing feedback, against us, and then used his own staff as scapegoats as a reason to cancel enrolment with no notice. Very cowardly indeed.The fact that he could not provide me with one example speaks volumes, as does the high turnover of staff.For those interested, our feedback and complaints have been things such as:• pressuring to toilet train a children before they were ready, prior to moving to a new room as the room didn’t have nappy training facilities. It was all about convenience for them.• Multiple staff changes and turnover as previously mentioned in which families were also not notified of staff leaving when they had been with our children for years. Staff who have departed were specifically advised NOT to let families know they were leaving.• The fact that they didn’t have enough food one particular day for children, who were told they could only have one serve as there wasn’t enough. Hard to provide meals when you can’t retain a chef I suppose.Please do not be fooled. Several of the pleasant reviews on here are from staff - one of whom doesn’t even have a child who attends the centre?!We have enrolled my second child at a different centre and it is like chalk and cheese. Avoid this sinking ship.

I have just enrolled my baby in the nursery. The team is fantastic. Tamarra ensured we had a smooth orientation and the staff are so professional and attentive. I am looking forward to seeing how the team continues to work with us as a family and watch my baby grow and develop there.

Discovery Croydon is not only a wonderful centre but has an incredible atmosphere. The educators are more than supportive and kind, they go above and beyond for each child and family. Discovery offers all children a wide range of experiences such as gardening, cooking, adventures, fun and messy activities and of course many numeracy and literacy learning experiences.Overall Discovery Croydon is a fantastic childcare centre and ensures every need and want of all children are met !!!

My daughter has been at the centre since she was four months old and has now graduated from the kindergarten in 2021. The educators always went above and beyond to ensure she was happy during her time there. She always enjoyed the incursions and excursions provided by the centre and the program has made me confident that she has all the skills necessary for her first year of school.

Completley disappointed in this centre. We moved to this centre for two weeks as we moved house and therefore had to move child care.The facilities are fantastic but unfortunately not taken advantage of at all. There was limited resources and play opportunities offered in the room and when we attended our four weeks (as we served our two week cancellation time) the items on offer to play with were not rotated. My daughter was very bored with the dinosaurs, paper and pencil and coloured shapes to play with. The staff in the rooms were lovely and very welcoming giving me hope.Management at this centre were completely rude and unfriendly. We were never greeted (as was no one else who entered) as we entered the centre each time we came, managers sitting at their desks. I found them short and almost annoyed if you asked questions or asked for help, especially if it was to help sign in on the first day. I felt that if management are unfriendly to the families and the children then how are the staff treated and we decided to find a centre with more to offer us.I feel like you need to follow your gut with child care and get the ‘right’ feeling.

The is the third childcare center our girls have been to, and it is by far the best one we've had. The facilities are beautiful, the food is fantastic and the curriculum, activities and educations are all amazing. We are so happy we made the move to Discovery Croydon. I feel confident in knowing that my own parenting is being supplemented by the wonderful work that the dedicated staff at Discovery do. Our girls love it there and they are learning so much. Highly recommended.
