Maitland Regional Art Gallery

We are incredibly lucky to have a wonderful gallery of exhibits here in Maitland, staff are friendly, and have excellent learning games aimed at school kids of all ages to help them appreciate art, no matter how creatively inclined they are.

What a great find! A really interesting gallery with a lovely cafe, and Maitland is a beautiful city! Some fabulous old buildings.

Random glance while driving in bottom end of Maitland main street - cafe was key word.Then memories from high school days told me that this was old Maitland tech college.Refurbished and with modernised interior and extensions.Great cafe. Easy parking areas behind building.

Worth a visit but choose your exhibition..... nice craft and glass displays. Good cafe. Parking also a nightmare anywhere close until you discover that down a tiny lane way there is parking attached to the library itself!

What an amazing space to explore. It is full of fresh and impressive exhibits to see, from Australian and international artists. Beautiful gift shop and cafe too!

Perfect for a rain day; or like me escaping the heatwave.Currently showcasing the Kungka Kunpu (Strong Women) collection reflects inspirational tales of women supporting each other across generations.I especially enjoyed looking at the little ones artwork in the interactive art room.Come ponder over art work and sculptures for a optional donation. Ever walk into a place and wonder whether they're trying to do too much? This is not like that. From the entryways, you can already see a number of exhibits, various shopping displays and a cafe but I'd say that the MRAG is absolutely smashing each of these aspects.The art installations are gorgeous and always highlight our local talent (as are/do the unique items offered for sale, mind you). They have high-quality, engaging activities for kids, from code-breaker puzzles to solve on your walk through the gallery, to creative craft workshops which are new each week.On top of that, the food and beverages are top-notch. I would be surprised if I had less than 300 cappuccinos a year from a variety of places, and the best one I've had this year was at the MRAG. Everything I've ever ordered from this cafe has been delicious, perfectly prepared and served by friendly, professional staff.The MRAG appears to excel in all their endeavours and has quickly become a family-favourite venue for us regularly visit.

It's located in beautiful premises and provided a lovely Sunday afternoon visit for us. The ladies at the main desk were very helpful and attentive. Cafe employees were very efficient in their jobs and aimed to please! The variety of art displays was intriguing and thought provoking.

Amazing place, well worth the visit. Cafe and giftshop are a must too. Free entry.
