Robert was recommended by our architect and was excellent to deal with from day 1 until completion.Our significant renovation spanned several eras of past renovations which saw a puzzle of past building techniques.Robert took the time on multiple occasions to explain changes and recommendations and gave a good summary of the house.He worked well with the builder and came to sensible solutions for challenges and also recommended fixes that resolved old renovation issues that arose during the build.Ultimately Robert was always available, responded quickly, is genuine and our house is far better structurally as a result of his work and recommendations.I recommend him.

Robert is all over residential structural engineering like a fat kid on a cupcake. His structural drawings were quality and comprehensive. As we encountered the unforeseen in our project Robert's communication was not only timely but he also provided practical alternative solutions. Every now and then you come across someone who is just a cut above everyone else in their industry, they don’t try and sell it to you, or blast it on social media, they are just incredible at what they do and they go and do it. Robert is one of these individuals. In this regard you simply will not find a structural engineer with the level of expertise, professionalism, patience and integrity that Robert provides, however the problem you will have is that there is only one Robert Kosman, so try and book him in early - he has 5 stars for a reason.We originally engaged Robert as part of a planned renovation, Robert assessed our drawings, house and layout and provided guidance and the detail required to undertake the works, as you will see from other reviews he is incredibly meticulous in his notes, but also very good at explaining it to non-technical individuals like myself. It should be noted that in addition to the renovation advice, Robert suggested added improvements to our existing roof and supporting structures not picked up by the builders and architects.However, for us the greatest value of Robert’s service has been his expertise, knowledge and support on identifying, explaining and guiding us through our subsidence issue. It’s fair to say the word ‘subsidence’ would generally make any home owner a bit nervous, but Robert’s approach at breaking down the challenge and issues, setting out our options and providing us with expert guidance has given us the assurance and confidence to deal with this without the worry and stress that is often coupled with subsidence. I should note this has often included countless phone calls, text messages and emails that Robert has never hesitated to respond too.We cannot recommend him high enough and his duty of care to his work and the people he works with is exemplary.

I was given Robert's details on a recommendation from a builder we had enquired with to figure out whether our proposed project was possible and what we would need to go ahead. Robert explained the process and considerations clearly for us and after the site inspection at the property was able to give us a clear plan to move forward. He drafted all of the drawings we needed to both approach builders for the project and put forward to certifiers for the required council approvals for the work. He was extremely patient and accommodating of all our questions and really helped us move out of the what if stage into the proceeding stage of our home renovations.
