Trilby Station
I've been to Trilby 3 times now with the family. It's a great setup for camping with each campsite spaced apart so that you may not even see the other campsite. The showers and toilets are a bit of a walk from the camping but are clean and have hot water. The owner is always a delight to talk to and they love to share their story about Trilby Station.

I had a similar experience to Stuart Y. Having decided not to camp at Gundabooka because it was raining (and we were tenting), we thought we'd try Trilby in the hope of a cabin. Couldn't call ahead because no phone reception. But when we got there - CLOSED. No help from the young man in residence who couldn't even tell us when the operators would be back, shrugged and said 'go back to Louth'. Trilby advertises accommodation in all the promotional literature, it's not good enough to just be closed with no advice until reaching their driveway. The next station along (Idalia) was closed according to Wiki Camps, and the previous station (Rose Isle) did not answer calls when we tried later, so Shindy's Inn in Louth (2 cabins and small grassed camp area) was the only accommodation in the area. So be aware if trying to do the 'Darling River Run' that there's not as much accommodation available as shown on the maps.

Great place to camp by the Darling River or by the Billabong.

We tried to stay at Trilby Station but got no reply by email , no reply by phone and when we drove out there there was a closed sign. Then we got an answer on the phone but were told we couldn't camp by the river as the owners wife was not due back until that night. What a poor poor response.I would never recommend this place to anyone.Stuart.

I stumbled upon Trilby Station about ten years ago and loved it so much I have stayed at least once a year since, in every possible accommodation type they offer. While the Jackaroo and Jillaroo Quarters are a ‘little slice of luxury’ in the outback, the river campsites (and billabong campsites when the billabong has water in it) are quite simple some of the best anywhere on the Darling. Well maintained with well-spaced apart. What makes a stay at Trilby so special is the effort that owner Liz makes to ensure everyone’s stay special. Over and above what is normal. It is what a real holiday is about! It is no surprise that travelers all over Australia, and some from overseas, speak in such glowing terms at the mention of Trilby Station.About time for another visit!

We had to redirect out trip due to closed roads around Birdsville. We were in Wilcannia and told by a couple there of Trilby Station. On the way there we meet another group in the pub at Tilpa (worth seeing) who also said how wonderful the station was. They were right. Liz and Gary were very helpful and happy to share the story of five generations in the area.We were going to camp one night, but liked it so much we stayed two. Plans are already underway for our return next year. Thanks

A while ago I got my ambitions mixed up with my capabilities and lost control of the car, caused a bit of damage to the trailer, the owners of the station could not do enough to help. They also let me use there welding gear to repair my trailer so I can get back to Sydney.Even with all that happened we had a pleased stay, if passing by I recommend a visit to the station, you will enjoy siting around the camp fire at night having a few drinks and talking to the other visitors. Thanks for your help.
