Great spot to camp. I only went on one trail walk, which I enjoyed; circling around the creek, passing by wombat burrows with signs along the trail with good information about the local area, winding back around to the old kiln. The creek was absolutely lovely, the water cool and fresh, perfect on a hot day.Since it is a popular spot to camp, there were some downsides - hard to get clear of neighbours' noise (some is alright but if you want to be more isolated just worth knowing.) All our neighbours were lovely, and it was kinda nice seeing the horse riders pass by.Please also remember to clear your rubbish and help take care of the place. We found old rubbish at the camp site we ended up picking and ended up doing a big sweep before we left to take old decaying plastics with us - that spot was right uphill of the creek and I worry that it won't stay so lovely and drinkable if current and future campers disrespect the space so much. The area is gorgeous and deserves much more care than that. We must all do our part to ensure the forest is healthy for years to come. And it is - the wildlife was amazing and thriving even though there were campers everywhere. It was pretty magical to be doing yoga one morning and be interrupted by a giant goanna. The shade was cool, the birds were singing. Very meditative place to be.

Have camped here many times. Good simple facilities for families and groups. Normally a good atmosphere up near the kiln. The yobbos usually stay down near the dam. The annual heritage festival is an excellent small area festival that's utterly non commercial. The kiln is a surviving bit of history within a natural bush setting that seemingly goes on forever.

Pretty little picnic area, fairly quiet as all the campers are further up the road. The short loop is an easy walk, peaceful and lovely, except the last bit when you walk past all the cars and tents at the camping section just before the kiln.Note: There are a lot of wasps which will appear as soon as you lay out any food at the picnic tables. We set aside a plate of scraps further away from our table which seemed to attract the majority of them, but there were so many still hanging about.Note 2: Set your map destination for Kurth Kiln picnic area, not Kurth Kiln regional park. They are not one and the same on the map. The latter will have you going for a magical mystery tour through some back roads more suitable for a 4WD before reaching the picnic area.

here is a place for you to chill and relax, walk around the nature, side seeing are one of the activities here. you may jump into the stream to cool yourself down a little, or walk into the creek, along the stream to find out what’s happening.we saw some wild lizards, no life form in the stream, but some of the plant you don’t see very often.the kiln are definitely something you may interested in. old but telling some story ☺️

I love this picnic area. There's quite a few actually. One near the water and couple of other just up the hill. The walk along the creek is really nice. We didn't do the full loop walk, but will be going back again for sure.

Great park with lots to see. Does get busy during holiday season. With daylight savings it make an excellent twilight walk. Now there are neat fireplaces for campfire cooking. Well worth the drive and accessible with a normal car.
