Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes

My 13-year-old daughter attended Lindamood-Bell in Melbourne for about 3 months earlier this year. She attended Lindamood-Bell because she needed assistance to improve her reading, writing, spelling and math skills. She loved the program and the people at the Centre. The Melbourne staff were motivated, professional and genuinely interested in my daughter's progress. The teachers at the Centre were well-trained and enthusiastic. They had the right balance of making the work fun and ensuring that progress was made each lesson. The consultant who developed my daughter's program, taught her some of the classes and closely monitored her progress, was one of the smartest and most personable professionals who has ever been involved in my daughter's education. Her judgment and recommendations were superb. The Centre director, who I had contact with on a regular basis, was outstanding. She listened to what we wanted our daughter to accomplish while she was in the program and helped create a program that was tailored to my daughter's needs. There is no cookie cutting at Lindamood-Bell. Lindamood-Bell's methodology is based on peer-reviewed research. An objective evaluation following my daughter's time in the Melbourne Centre showed that she can now read very close to grade level. Her spelling and writing have also dramatically improved. She has also benefitted greatly from the math instruction she received. Lindamood-Bell should offer tuition assistance to help cover the cost of the program. Although Lindamood-Bell is expensive, we highly recommend the program and particularly the Melbourne Centre.
