My husband came in the shop to get some cinnamon donuts today they charged him $18 for six donuts when I called and asked for the right changed to be given they said it was his fault that he left the shop and started abusing me we are locals and have never had this kind of serviceanywhereRochelle

Pie was dry, too hot, and just to top things off he added an extra 20c to the bill. Avoid this place... maybe go up the hill and get a dozen of the best oysters you've ever tasted instead.

Would not recommend this bakery..I ordered a sandwich and sat down to eat it and it was HOT I asked for my money back and was abused by the owner telling me to get out of her shop. There are Australian standards for displaying food in a cold display unit, the sandwich are not in a cold area..there was an assortment of different sandwich including chicken which needs to be stored in a fridge not on a shelf in a hot bakery. I hope no one gets sick from eating the hot sandwich. I have never been to a bakery where they serve hot sandwich and rolls.

Local bakeries can be a lottery: you never quite know what you’re going to get. In Tathra, the local guy, Tathra Bakery & Cafe, is a pie shop, a sandwich shop (they make three types of sandwich, and they all involve salad), and a bakery. They turn out a range of different breads plus a collection of classic Australian treats running from custard tarts to apple pies to vanilla slices and glistening chocolate eclairs, with nothing much over the five buck mark. The cheese and bacon pie ($5.50) with a smear of tangy tomato sauce ($0.40) is a good, honest pie with hunks of steak in its thick gravy. It comes without a pie tin, but is blessed with pastry firm enough to contain the piping hot contents. I was pretty delighted with it until I tasted the even better potato pie ($5.60). The crusty golden dome hides the smoothest white-pepper spiked potato mash you can imagine, making for a truly wonderful pie. While the sourdough here didn’t quite win me, the other must-eat is the kalamata olive baguette ($6). I suspect the hidden hand of another South Coast local business, Contadino olives, in these big juicy kalamata olives, kept nice and moist in the baguette’s soft white interior. We enjoyed ours with cheese from Central Tilba that was flavoured with Mystery Bay kelp, keeping it all in the NSW South Coast family.

Dreadful service with coffee to match. Staff are gruff and unaccommodating. Rude and abrupt are not two skills I'd say are suited for customer service. Don't offer milk alternatives, which I was brashly informed of. Ignorant choice as that is just the norm these days for a place that serves barista made coffee. That being said, I've had better coffee from a gas station so I use the term barista made" lightly. Wouldn't waste my time when there's other nice coffee places just up the road with lovely staff. Baked goods were below average and honestly not worth the price. Never had something here that hasn't tasted somewhat stale. And I have given them a shot more than once

$15 for a bacon and egg roll that is so bloody small. What a joke! Bacon not good and penty of egg shell in it too. 1st and last time ever at this rip-off joint!

Stopped at Tathra Bakery to buy lunch today. Despite being friendly and polite to the woman behind the counter, neither the friendliness nor the politeness was returned. She asked me prior to ringing my order up on the till am I paying cash or card"After replying "card" my order was quickly rung up to a total of $23.90. Assuming that the same amount was entered into the eftpos machine

Wonderful doughnuts! But there are all sorts of goodies on offer, the staff were very friendly, there were plenty of locals enjoying the outdoor seating and such a beautiful location.

Ok food. Young guy being trained was good, but the overly micromanagement training style was uncomfortable. But I guess in the end, everyone's just doing their best. Coffee was pretty good.
