Victorian Elderly Chinese Hostel

A shout out to the hostel for providing extensive care and services to the old age residents. The staffs are very professional and dedicated. They prioritize the wellbeing of the old people, making them content and feel like home.

The only way I can describe this facility is as the first class place. There is always someone here to listen to elder people’s needs The staff are so caring and they really put their hearts into the elder people.The room is so tidy and clean. The environment is so homely like, it looks like a home rather than an aged care.Victorian Elderly Chinese Hostel is the best aged care I have ever visited. I highly recommended this facility with their good management and caring staffs.

Mum has been there for 15 months now. All I can say is what a wonderful family like community it is! Staff are always warm and helpful. I live 150kms away and can only visit Mum every 3-4 days. They would keep me posted every day when asked. I can never thank them enough for creating such a safe and caring environment for my mother. I can't imagine what my life would be like without this incredible facility! It is most unfortunate my mother became so sick when she only came here for a holiday. At the same time, it is fortunate that Mum receives such wonderful care and assistance for her old age. Thank you so much!!!!!

I love going to visit her, the carers always greet me by name and we have good conversations. Over the years I've embraced their friendship and kindness.My mum had an ensuite and a personal tv in her room. The room and bathroom was very clean and the layout was very comfortable.The lounge is equally clean with TVB cable tv. My mum loved sitting in her recliner watching all the goings on around her.The staff makes her laugh and includes her in the organised activities that includes mahjong, singing, exercise and pre Covid they got to go out for yum cha and grocery shopping. Pre Covid there were also celebrations with a spread put on. We celebrated mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, Chinese New Year to name a few. My mum’s favourite was the Lion Dance at Chinese New Year. Family members were also invited to these celebrations. I too loved them for the good food and entertainment.The care that my mum received was second to none. The carers are so kind and perform their duties to the highest requirement. They treated my mum with respect and patience.Henry the manager runs the place to perfection. He looks after the staff, residents and visitors. I love having a chat when I visit, he always makes time to chat to visitors. His demeanour is always cheerful and friendly.The food that they serve is delicious and is Chinese cuisine. Some afternoon teas, steamed sweet potato is served and I can see how some residents were so happy because it reminded them of their past home. Other times there is always something delicious served. There’s even supper in bed if requested, I know my mum used to love having a small cup of milk in bed.My mum passed away on 25/3/2023. I am so grateful that she lived in a place with really good care 24/7. I can honestly say that she was very happy there. I highly recommend the Victorian Elderly Chinese Hostel for their diligent, respectful and patient care 24/7. It is a home away from homeMei Kuen Chan

I am truly grateful for the Victorian Elderly Chinese Hostel to look after our beloved grandmother with their excellent staff’s service, food, medical needs, quality care and many amazing entertainments throughout. Their management team are dedicated to nourish the Chinese culture, bringing the community together to enjoy their daily livings. It’s certainly worth more than a 5 stars rating place.

Great management people and well trained staffs. Absolutely recommend this place. During this difficult period of covid-19, the victorian elderly chinese hostel has shown its extreme professionalism in guarding the safety of the residents well. I am very grateful that my mum chose this place.

Dad has been in this VECH for 1 year now, Mum has been there for a few months. They both are well looked after. Good management, well trained and friendly staffs.Well done on keeping them and all others residents safe from COVID-19.Thank you for entertaining them by taking them to Yum cha, having xmas party, celebrating Chinese New Year and recently took them out to Maribyrnong River.

A well balanced aged care especially suited to ethnic Chinese. Staffed by Chinese staff and serving Chinese meals too.

YOU are the lucky one if your loved one gets to live at the VECH in their final years, because you’ll have peace of mind knowing they’re safe and happy. They’ll receive the very best in care by carers who actually love and care for their residents. I was the biggest skeptic, there almost every day visiting my mum and observing, waiting to see the worst. But all I saw was a wonderful and impressive team who treated residents with unexpected kindness and tenderness, dignity and respect…treating residents like they were their own grandparents. And don’t forget the amazing food every day, the chefs deliver a menu that made my mouth water on most days. And if you don’t believe me, believe the palliative care nurse from Royal Melbourne who was supporting my mum. She gets to visit all the aged care facilities around Melbourne, and she thinks VECH is one of the very best. She was so impressed she said she wanted to learn Chinese so she could live there when she was older. Placing your loved one at VECH will be one of the best decisions you’ll ever make. Thank you Henry, Liu, Caroline and the rest of the team, please don’t ever leave!

In this facility, all the elderly and employees are like family, and the activities of Chinese cultural are also very interesting. The Chinese food served at here is amazing.Lovely team of staff led by great managers provide quality and professional care to the elderly residents.A trustworthy aged care facility~
