Kis Hair

I am incredibly disappointed in my hair cut from here. I came in with high hopes considering the reviews however instantly felt unwelcome. I was taken over to the washing area where an untrained person washed my hair incredibly roughly and quickly as the woman told him to “do it quickly” (I could literally feel him tangling and pulling out hair) Once I sat down I showed a different man the photo of what style I wanted and he said no problem. I also told him I have naturally curly/wavy hair hoping that he would somewhat know how to cut it as he is a trained hairdresser. He then told me my hair was long so it was going to be $65 instead of $55 even though that wasn’t an option on the website and my hair wasn’t that long. He then proceeded to bring over the guy who washed my hair and they used a technique to dry my hair (without using heat protectant) which left it all tangled and knotty and instead of taking the time to brush out each of the knots he would pull at them and snap my hair. He then rushed through my haircut (while my hair was dry…) and it looked nothing like I asked for (literally just curtain bangs, face framing, long layers and shorter) but I left anyway and said it was fine because I just wanted it to end. However, once I got home and looked in the mirror I noticed that all of my hair was uneven. One side of my bangs noticeably went a lot further back on my head and my hair overall looks worse than if I were to cut it myself. I usually travel back to Queensland to get my hair done however decided to try one in my city. Worst. Mistake. Ever. Won’t be back and definitely wouldn’t recommend going here.

Tourist coming over from the UK. Just had a haircut with Jasmine. Really friendly, calm and professional service. Also good value for money because I got my hair cut, washed and styled for 33 AUSD which was a fair bit cheaper than some of the of the other places I was looking at. I have Asian hair so it helped to have an Asian hairdresser who understood my hair type! Would recommend!

This was my first time going to Kis hair and Daphne was my hairdresser and she did such an amazing job. I came into Kis hair with 4 different hair colours from a different hairdresser who had messed up my colour and Daphne worked her magic and dyed my hair the exact colour I wanted and even styled it very nicely. I would definitely recommend this place and would recommend having Daphne as your hairdresser as she did such an amazing job!!!!

My first appointment was previously a bad experience, however they were quick to fix their mistakes in a later appointment for free! This included hair treatments to ensure my hair was not badly damaged as it was 3 bleach sessions in total, 2 of which I paid for. I'm not sure how they messed up my virgin hair, but it was fixed into a vibrant and clear purple like I had requested for. However their service is fully dependent on who you get! I recommend Karen who was so friendly and talkative as well as ensured my piercing weren't hurt in the process alongside other staff who made me feel relaxed. The price is decent for it's service as well.

Agnes was absolutely fantastic. I showed her a couple of photos, she explained why she could not do exactly as I wanted, and took minimum off the area I wanted weight into. I have baby fine hair and it is not the easiest to cut however Agnes did a great job. Highly recommend.

Everything was great up until my last visit.They quoted me x amount but charged double that after service and had already taken the amount from my card without my permission!!! You cannot do that, extremely unprofessional. Also I used the right shampoos etc. but the colour used seemed to be them dyes that wash out after x amount of washes. Do not recommend this salon to anyone.

Affordable, stylish cuts for men. I've been their customer since 2019 (back when they were at Bourke St) and I've stayed loyal thanks to their highly skilled and professional hair stylists. Their pricing is really reasonable for a professional cut and the consistency is great. I've had my hair cut by several different hairstylists at KIS and they have slightly different personal touches; you may eventually fall back to a regular but they're all equally skilled. Highly recommended!

I had just stepped off the plane from NZ and desperately needed a wash and blow dry. It was done so efficiently and looks amazing. Thank you for such a great service. I would definitely recommend coming here again.

Had a lovely wash, dry and cut for very long hair for $65. Megumi was friendly and gave me a very lovely classic cut and style as requested. I’ll be back! (The sign for the hairdresser hasn’t been changed yet, the hairdresser is as you walk into West Place on the left, I struggled to find it!).

I came here as it was one of the best priced hair cuts I could find and I am chuffed! My hair was really thinning at the end. I came 20 minutes early and they were able to take me earlier which was a bonus. A lovely experience, the guy washing my hair spent so much time on it, and then Takeshi did my hair. He was very knowledgeable and gave good advice and styled my hair beautifully! Will be back for sure.
