Staff member was so friendly and helpful. The Tower is so interesting. I didn't feel that comfortable climbing a timber staircase, but my partner went up and said it was very cool. He got a cute sticker as a little reward for making it which is a nice touch.

It was a great place to visit, if you visit Tasmania you should go and see the tower. There is a cosy cafe at the ground level that you can grab. Bite and then climb up the tower. There are a lot of stairs to climb but definitely worth the view that appears when you get up there. There is also a tiny musium about the tower and processes that used to happen there. Carparks are available, and there is a beautiful walking track nearby as well full of flowers!

The best little site nestled away. Highly recommend the scones and tea (Tasmanian breakfast was my kryptonite) the man who bakes the scones was the absolute best. He was so nice and even gave us hints about how he makes the best scones on the planet (my words). They were like eating clouds, so fluffy and light. The ambience of the tea house inside was cosy and magical. I can imagine a cool winters day with the fire going would be beautiful. The tower itself is a very cool historic site, worth the walk up to the top. Stunning views of the bay in the distance. Well worth the visit all-round if you like history, cosy tea and scones, and nice people.

Really enjoyed this! Perfect quick stop. Cost $10/adult to climb the shot tower. Got to learn about how shots are made and the owners of the tower. But the best bit was the view!Be warned, the tower consists of lots of small steps. This would not be an ideal adventure for someone who can't comfortably walk steps.

Nice small historic tower in Taroona. You pay a few bucks if you want to climb to the top. From the top of the tower, you can get a magnificent view of all blue and green. There are some small windows too so you can see part of the beautiful landscape along the steps. Should go there on a nice weather day to get the best views. There are a vintage style cafe and a souvenir shop at the lower levels. Staff was nice and friendly.

Awesome! Great lookout, souvenirs and cafe! Climbed the tower for a gorgeous view. Only problem is you can’t see the car park when heading northwest as u come to the corner and it’s just on the left which makes it hard to turn in unless u know the area well! Still worth the stop!

The Shot Tower is a good spot to stop when touring. Take in the magnificent views from the top (for a modest fee). There are lots of stairs but the view is well worth the effort.

Enjoy reading the story and the history of the tower and its specialist purpose and the family owners story, climb the stairs and enjoy the magnificent views.

Definitely worth the climb to the top. 318 steps I’m told and the view is outstanding. Never knew that was how shot was produced.
