Old Wentworth Gaol
You feel like you've stepped back in time here. It's a very interesting to learn the history of the gaol, what happened there and who was impressed. We really enjoyed ourselves!

A great deal of information available during a self guided tour. Gift shop available. Public rest rooms across the road in a local park.There is also the pioneer museum close by. Reasonably priced at $10 per adult.

An old building, with several cells and some torture chambers. It's very boring, though. A visit would be worth for young children.I have the impression that all Gaols look similar.

We seen it from outside because it was closed the 2 day's we were there, I'm sure it was nice. Closed Thursday and Friday. I did get a few drone shots from high.

Very fascinating! I enjoyed exploring the history of this place at my own pace, taking pictures and learning a little about what life would have been like for someone incarcerated during the 1800's. Nice to see an Aboriginal inclusion as well.

Very cool. Informative exhibits. Allows pets which was great! The kids really enjoyed it. Very educational. The guy at the entry was lovely. Wasn't much to do nearby, but worth a visit.

Old Wentworth Gaol
The Old Wentworth gaol is the oldest Australian designed gaol and was built between 1879-1881 and operated till 1927. The Gaol gives you a glimpse into how life was as a prisoner back in those days. It has a male cell block of 10 cells and female cell block of only 2 cells. Lots of information & stories are there inside to read about who were prisoners, gaolers and others in Old Wentworth gaol. Definitely worth a visit if you are around Wentworth or Mildura.
