Lovely little shop with all your sewing needs. One of the few places you can still purchase good quality buttons from the tubes in the exact quantity you want (saves all the extra packaging and waste) Much nicer than shopping at one of the big businesses.

Great haberdashery shop, good range of fabrics and notions, very competitive pricing and knowledgable customer service. Always great service from Fenners. Highly recommend as your go to shop for fabrics, yarns and notions on the Northern beaches.

I really enjoy this little treasure trove. It's a proper haberdashery with a friendly and knowledgeable owner. So much more pleasant to visit and browse than making the hike to the big impersonal Spotlight or Lincraft stores. This shop is a real asset to Mona Vale village and long may it continue.

A favourite shop in mona vale. John is so helpful and knowledgable and can answer almost every haberdashery question you have! Good selection of fabrics, ribbons, buttons and thread.

Fenners is one store that you hope will be there forever. John is themost pleasant, patient, efficient, funny, and wonderful shop ownerI have ever known. The stock is unique, as is John, and you alwaysfind what you want, or more.

Based on the reviews I was expecting to be welcomed by a kind shop owner but instead the old man was rude and very short with me. I will not be going back and do not advise other too either. Very unfriendly and not welcoming at all his tone was very dismissive and not helpful. Wish I could give less than one star. I don’t understand how people can be like this towards customers it’s not professional at all.edit:response to owner: I work in customer service and childcare. I have been trained to treat every customer and parent with respect and kindess no matter if I am having a bad" day. Just becuasue your experience was better than mine doesn't mean he isn't like this to others. Having a bad day should never excuse his actions at all. I do not want others to be treated the same way. This platform is used to review experiences honeslty and this is my experience. It was not good and others should not have to experience it either. This post should make the owner reflect on how his actions effect his potential cutomers. After posting this I was also notified by a friend that he was also rude to her too when she went in so I guess he has a lot of "bad" days. Which again is no excuse obviously you have no professional experience to know that your mood should not ever negatively effect anyone let alone a client otherwise this will ultimately effect your business especially if you are the face of the company."

I often go to Spotlight or Lincraft for the odd crafty things however today I wanted something a little closer to home. I grew up in the same street as Fenner’s and remember it from my childhood vividly. I used to go in there with awe at the magic and beauty of the place! As someone who has now grown up and is beginning to become more crafty in the arts of sewing, quilting, crocheting, cross stitching and knitting .. this shop still has a sense of magic about it, probably due to its rarity.. after speaking with the owner John I found out the store has been run by him since 1971! I suddenly felt slightly guilty for always going to the large multinational companies - and am beginning to move to a more localised approach to shopping and sourcing out foods/products. Please join me on the journey of supporting those who support us in our communities..the good ol’ Aussie battlers who fight on, even with large companies flooding the arena. To John at Fenner’s Haberdashery - thank you for providing an experience which no other store could ever match.. one filled with humility, friendship, knowledge and of course... magic ✨

I love this store. John is pleasant and helpful and I am always able to find what I need. I really like the fabric selection as well!
