The food is questionable. Gluten free spaghetti was very sweet had to add salt. Chicken was very dry, couldn’t eat it. The price of some of the beers were silly. Like Sydney night club prices.(See picture of very expensive beer).I lined up to order food. Staff literally ignored me (they did see me). I noticed another section of the bar was serving. So I went there to order my drinks and food. When I started to order, she says to me oh you have to order food at other bar (where I was originally standing). I WAS JUST STANDING THERE AND YOU LOOKED RIGHT AT ME.There was not a single brain cell present that day.Giving 2 stars is generousThe food came out surprisingly fast. Which was good. Also watch out for the seagulls, they have evolved and they are smarter then you think. If you turn your back. Your food is theirs.

Really great meal here. The menu is standard pub fare but extremely well cooked and fresh. Well done.

Small menu, not a heap to choose from. Basic 3 types of steak, a combo of fresh and fried seafood items with a few salads and pastas. Not much by way of indoors seating. Best to make a reservation as walk ins means you will end up outside which is fine if the weather is favourable. The views are great. The pub which connects to the bistro gets a bit rowdy. So not ideal for a quiet romantic dinner or family dining. Years ago they used to have an awesome kids menu that came with a bowl of fresh fruit salad. My daughter got a chicken schnitzel with chips and a piece of watermelon on the plate. It came with a drink. It's ok. Not amazing. I ordered surf and turf which was pretty impressive.. my only real criticism was that the plate was too small for the amount of food stacked on it. Was awkward to eat especially as we were outside in the wind. The Ocean Beach is more for drinkers who enjoy crowds. It's a pity they don't cater more for families given that there is an awesome park and beach right outside.

This place is great for a meal and beverages with a picturesque view, the meals are quite large and happy to recommend, you can probably get away with sharing a meal if you're not extra hungry. Been here a couple of times now and I've been happy with the service.Seafood linguine and a calamari salad!

Ordered the local fish and chips. The fish was oozing oil and soaked the paper on the plate. It was mushy and the only taste was oil.I was looking forward to some nice fresh fish and ended up returning one of the 2 pieces of fish supplied. It was terrible. Not a good experience at all. They asked if I wanted my money back and then decided because I managed to eat 1 piece that was not possible.

We went to this pub because it was close to our accommodation. We weren’t welcomed and found a place to sit. The outside doors were open all the time we were there (6 to 7) and cold breeze coming in. Even when we went to the car and got a jacket no one got the message it was cold. The staff mostly stood around, one looking at her phone constantly, playing with their hair, chatting to each other. Oldest staff member seemed to do most of the work. The food was average, my salmon was dry and over cooked. Nothing to rave about.

Whilst the view is enticing the seafood platter for 2 was inedible. Oysters that will make you ill, prawns with black heads and grey meat, mushy fish. Plus on top spending $75 for food you cannot eat the manager was down right rude and would not refund anything.

This place is extremely overrated. It was the worst food we've eaten in years and it was expensive too. My local take away serves better fish and chips and they do it 70% cheaper. The fish was very dry but the chips were ok. The calamari was nice but the oysters were the smallest I've ever seen. I should report them to fisheries authorities as it must be illegal to have oysters that small? The hamburger and chips cost $18 and even the kids wouldn't eat it.The Coke from the tap was terrible too. It had a very nasty aftertaste. The place is not wheelchair or pram friendly. All the tables are so crammed in that you cannot pass with a pram and none of the 3 entrances will accommodate wheelchairs. They make you pay whilst ordering, just like McDonald's, but after tasting the food we understand why. Some pros: The parking is good. Staff were friendly and the toilets were reasonable clean. We won't be back.
