Boss Dog Grooming

I take my two dogs and both always come back looking amazing! I feel like a bad owner as when I drop them off they are sometimes matted, but there is no guilty stares from staff. I love my dogs and Boss dog make them look amazing.

Unsure if these groomers would pay $80 for a bad haircut as this is what they are providing their customers. Our elderly 14 year old ShiTzu went in for a full Summer clip and wash and is used to going to his regular groomer. After 3 hours of being at the salon I go into the shop to pick him up and they were unsure of which dog was mine and was specifically asked “is that the one who looks like a rat?” - after determining which dog was mine I was then asked to pay again after paying online at the time of booking.Fast forwarding a few hours - a rash had flared up on his back/abdomen. Clearly not the best hygiene practices are in place amongst other issues at this salon.Along with a grooming fee I also had a vet bill. - As owners we entrust these groomers to be professionals and take care of our dogs but quite frankly can’t even cut a long hair coat evenly.Your dog is better off with a home groom than going to this place.

Went to this groomer for the first time 2 days ago. They were able to get me in within a day of booking.On drop off, I said it’s fine to shave Murphy down to the skin as he is matted.Unfortunately I got them on a bad day, as they were under staffed. Their demeanour wasn’t good but I believe they were under pressure.I was quoted $140 upon booking (large labradoodle) which is more than I’ve ever paid at other Geelong groomers but I was happy to get in so fast.When I picked him up I was given the eftpos machine to pay and I read $200. I said oh 200? I was then advised he took 3 hours of her time because he was matted, that that’s how much they charge for an extra large dog, and that I don’t have to come back. They also told me i wouldn’t find anywhere cheaper. I pay $90 at my usual groomer, which is cheaper given it’s at a private residence, but I’ve never heard of anyone paying $200.Before I had a chance to dispute the $200, she told me she will charge $140 just this once. I appreciate this, but I still find it odd. It also made me feel uncomfortable that she keyed $200 into the eftpos machine, knowing it was a lot more than I was quoted, and didn’t speak to me about it.I wasn’t going to write a review, however Murphy has been limping since his return home. I have sent a message to the salon about this on Facebook - just asking if they remember what may have caused this. I am yet to receive a response. I only sent the message yesterday morning so maybe they will respond later.Murphys groom is neat and considering he hates his feet being groomed, they did a very good job on getting his feet short.Every experience is different with these places and this was just mine. However I would suggest you give them your dogs KG and let them know if the dog is matted at all when you ask for a quote. Boss groomer personally isn’t for me and Murphy, but they obviously have some happy costumers too.

Avoid this groomer at all costs. Left our poor golden retriever with horrible marks, scabs and cuts behind her ears which resulted in hundreds of dollars in vet bills. Were not remorseful about their services. Look elsewhere.

Atlhough I was reasonably happy with the service I'd received in the past, I had a terrible time last time I was there and so won't be going back. As my dog is a westy I asked for a westy cut"

Firstly I’ll say when I first went to this groomer when they were in Newcomb their work was exceptional and this is why I returned back to their salon in Geelong west.In April I took my two dogs and one of them was injured by a groomer that badly that he needed surgery under a general’s anaesthetic and at 11 years old this is far from ideal. I spoke to the owner agreed the person working would need training and that the next groom would be free. Fast forward to now (they were groomed by a family friend in the meantime) and I took my dogs in today and the service was beyond rude from the very beginning. I was in a rush but has written notes online and told the staff member to call me to discuss anything. Instead of that being acceptable she followed me to my car only to ask what type of groom I wanted (not sure why this was asked again since I already told her that as why it couldn’t have been a phone call)Long story short after my partner called and was also treated rudely we picked the dogs up and will be going elsewhere. And from reading recent reviews I am so happy I didn’t leave my dogs in this businesses hands. It’s not a coincidence that they’re the only place in Geelong who has availability this close to Christmas. Do not go here if you want your dogs to be treated with respect and yourself too.

Really disappointed in the service here, my dog went for a clip and has come back with choppy ears and stray strands that were missed. Her tail is extremely uneven and she overall looks like she was clipped at home by someone with no expreince. I noticed the staff being rough and yelling at another dog to shut up when I went to pick her up, it was unprofessional and unsettling. I have never had such a poor expereince with a groomer before, this is what I fear the most when dropping her off and I hope no one else goes through the same.

I called on a Saturday morning with a pup that needed an emergency groom after a bad injury. Not only did they fit me in same day, but they took amazing care of her and were careful of her injury area. All of the staff were beyond amazing, friendly and caring not only to her but also to myself. I am so thankful, and if we didn’t already have a regular groomer I would 100% go here as a regular!
