We absolutely loved our time at Barney Creek Vineyard Cottages. Lakeside Cottage was the ideal location to get off the grid for a few days, and curl up with a good bottle of red and the book I’ve been trying to read for months. Aspen and Brendan are the loveliest hosts you could hope for and both of them could not do enough to ensure our time with them was simply perfect. We can’t wait to get the chance to visit again.

A picturesque location for a relaxing and peaceful getaway. The cottage was so cute, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Wines are delicious! Great to be able to bring the fur baby to explore and enjoy the lovely natural surrounds. Thanks Brendan and Aspen.

We just completed a three night stay at Barney Creek Vineyard Cottages for my wife's mother's 75th birthday celebrations. What a fantastic place to spend time with friends and family while enjoying nature's beauties during Autumn. The drive in from Rathdowney along the Logan River then onto upper Logan Road with spectacular mountain views was a great way to start our retreat. The cottages are nestled between the majestic spring fed Barney Creek and the upper reach of the Logan River with Mount Maroon looking down on our stay. There are plenty of beautiful walks around the property, head down onto the banks of the crystal clear Barney Creek and you might be lucky to get a glimpse of a platipus or two and maybe even some turtles. You can walk to the junction of Barney Creek and Logan River then swing back around through a couple of the on-site vineyards. We booked the five cottages for our get-together, each one offering something different. The Garden Cottage is great for a large family or several couples to share with well appointed amenities and it overlooks the bubbling Barney Creek. We used this as our meeting place for our two celebratory dinners. The Florries cottage is great for a couple and also overlooks Barney Creek. Hill Station Cottage looks around to spectacular mountain views including Mt Barney. The Lakeside Bungalow as its name suggests sits beside a quant lake that is home to wild ducks and peacocks. For those that want some real privacy the Pecans camping cabin provides a getaway down by the Logan River. If you are lucky enough to stay on a Saturday or Sunday you must do the cellar door wine tasting, get a history lesson about the property and surrounding areas and maybe purchase a few wines . Aspen and Brendan were wonderful hosts from our arrival and also helped throughout our stay with firewood top-ups etc. We could not recommend this stay highly enough, we thoroughly enjoyed the joys of nature and hospitality provided. Thanks Brendan and Aspen for a wonderful weekend at the Lakeside Bungalow. Walking around the property and along the creek was a lovely way to spend our first afternoon there, not to mention sharing a glass on our our private deck and soaking in the spa the next day after climbing Mt Maroon. We're already planning to return next year.

We have stayed in Florries Cottage 14 times in 3 years and keep coming back! The pet friendly accomodation, scenery, wine and tranquillity is incredible. The log fire, creek, mountains, spa bath and serenity rejuvenate us every time. It's our touch of paradise - and one we visit frequently. Aspen and Brendan are wonderful hosts, always ensuring a peaceful and friendly experience.

2 bottles of complimentary wine were just the beginning of our restorative stay at Barney creek. We booked 3 nights and 2 very generous servings of breakfast, a welcome antipasto platter and a lamb bbq dinner package. We had everything we needed to enjoy the remote location with no phone service only venturing to a cafe for lunch to check out the olive grove and to Yellow Pinch, Cronan Creek and the Lower Portals all of which were a 10 minute drive from the cottage. Thank you for hosting and creating a peaceful space where we can bring our dog, I hope to visit again and again.

We stayed at the lake side cabin on our first trip it was an amazing 2 nights away with our mini dachshunds, we had pre ordered the food hampers and on the arrival all the food was stored in the fridge and everything was incredible. The wine is top notch! The port the best we have tasted! The property is beautiful taken care of by the owners and they really do make you feel so welcomed. We enjoyed ourselves so much we booked a 4 night stay in the pecans cabin this past January. Again amazing service, the shower didn’t work the first night and brendon was straight down in the morning with a new battery, if water needed filling up again brendon was there. Aspen and brendon was on top of everything including topping up the ice on extra hot days! We did the “walk”/mammoth hike down to the portals one day and got caught in a storm but it was just such an amazing experience everything about this gem of a place is incredible and we’ll be back soon and even going to hopefully book a couple of nights for our mini honeymoon next year if dates are available it reminds me so much of my home town in Victoria. 3rd best place in the world for me! If I could give more stars I would! Absolutely perfect guys! Keep up the amazing work you are doing with your little slice of paradise! Xxx

Pecan’s Camping Cabin (non-powered)Maximum Guests: 4Lovely private spot on the river, cabin had every thing you needed to get by, the shower was good and easy to use, we had plenty of light at night time but the cabin itself was a little dated, could do with a little sprucing.Zero reception where the cabin is (Telstra) had to go to the top of the hill (just outside the front gates) to get reception but it was also a beautiful spot to watch the sunset.
