I recently brought my car to this mechanic for its yearly service, and I'm extremely dissatisfied with the experience. From the beginning, I informed them about the issues I was facing with my air conditioning (AC) system, which was not working properly. Their proposed solution was to re-gas it for a hefty fee of $155. Additionally, they suggested a cleaning service for $89, as the air from the AC had an unpleasant odor.After picking up my car, I immediately noticed that the AC still had a lingering smell, although I didn't use it at that moment because the weather was cold. However, when I eventually turned it on a few hours later, I was disappointed to find that it was still blowing hot air and emitting the same unpleasant smell. Naturally, I returned to the mechanic with my concerns.To my astonishment, they informed me that there was actually a leak in the AC system and advised me to consult an AC specialist. This revelation was deeply disappointing, as I had already paid nearly $250 for the repairs that now seem to have been a complete waste of money. Seeking further clarification, I consulted various car and refrigeration mechanics, all of whom informed me that a car AC shouldn't require re-gassing unless there is a leak present. It appears that the mechanic took advantage of my limited knowledge in this area. I can only speculate that they would have continued re-gassing my AC and charging me annually if the leak had not been so evident.I must emphasize that it was only after I brought my car back to them that they actually checked for leaks. Ideally, they should have discovered the leak during the initial inspection, or at the very least, they could have cautioned me about the possibility that re-gassing and cleaning might not address the underlying problem. It is disheartening to think that they immediately suggested re-gassing without considering alternative solutions.Furthermore, I had my front brake pads and disc rotors replaced by this mechanic, but upon obtaining quotes from other mechanics afterward, I discovered that almost all of them offered the same service for at least 10% less. This raises concerns about the fairness and transparency of their pricing.Although I initially trusted this mechanic based on their positive reviews, my experience with their service has been far from satisfactory. I will be taking my car to another mechanic from now on, as I am in search of high-quality and reliable service that I feel was lacking here.

It's rare I write a review, however I have to say that my experience with Joel and his team at the Coorparoo store was outstanding. I rang him at 4.45pm in the afternoon with an exhaust issue, and was staring down the barrel of no car for around a week as nowhere could fit me in. Joel said how soon can you be here?" I was there within 15 minutes and in under an hour later

After having my car breakdown and calling 6-7 mechanics who unfortunately couldn't fit me in for another week, Joel from AutoKeepers Coorparoo was more than happy for me to tow my car to his shop and keep it there overnight - he even said he'd try his best to fit my car in that day despite being busy.He was honest, friendly, and reliable. This has probably been the best experience I've ever had with a mechanic.He fixed my car so quickly and I was able to pick it up the next day. He even let me pick it up an hour after he closed (6:30pm) as that was the earliest I could get there.Thank you so much Joel and the rest of the AutoKeepers team. I'll definitely be back :)

Joel sent photos of my vehicle throughout the service, and gave me a call to discuss everything before going ahead with anything that needed replacing. The service was also really affordable. Joel’s reviews online speak for themselves! A top tier mechanic that I will definitely be returning to for all of my car needs.
