I've had a really great experience with Sample Room and I really recommend working with them, especially if you're just starting out with a label. Doing the Fashion Label Launchpad was extremely valuable to me.I'm very happy with the fit of my garments and I feel confident that my patterns, made by Sample Room, are the best they can be - Julia has an incredible amount of experience in the industry. I really feel that I'm starting off on the right foot. Every meeting I've had with Julia and her team has given me really important insight into the industry, and they've offered fantastic feedback on my ideas.I've found that one of the best things about working with Sample Room is that Julia and her staff are genuinely lovely and caring people. This has been incredibly important to me and I really appreciate the relationship that I've built with them, and I trust them very much. I've been working with Sample Room for two years now and they have really helped me bring my fashion business dream to life. I had been wanting to start a sustainable underwear line for a while but I was feeling intimidated not being familiar with the industry. The mentoring course was exactly what I needed to build my confidence and understand the steps to take while also receiving the expert advice of Julia and her team on my specific business idea. There is so much doubt and uncertainty in starting a business especially in the very beginning when you're doing it alone, and the team has made me feel encouraged and supported every step of the way. I was interstate and this did not cause any issues in the development process with online fittings and clear communication on what I needed to do, it was so easy. There have been many times when I was unsure about how to move forward with certain design issues and they have been instrumental in helping me decide. I'm extremely happy with the production batches Sample Room have done so far and all the samples they've produced for me. I'm looking forward to creating more designs with the team.

I began my journey with the Sample Room just over 12 months ago. I had no design experience whatsoever and had never worked in the fashion industry either. I just had an idea for a new activewear range that I wanted to bring to life. After researching several companies to help me do this, the Sample Room had all of the tools and guidance to help me achieve this.I signed up for their mentoring programme as I knew this would be invaluable for me to learn as much about the design process as possible for the future.This, alongside the expert help from Julia and Kate enabled me to bring my idea to life.Their skills and knowledge were very much appreciated as I would've struggled with the technical details of the design process without them.I would absolutely encourage anyone with an idea to use the Sample Room. The moment I opened my package and took out my first samples I was so impressed. I couldn’t believe how Julia, Kate and their team brought my vision to life and managed to recreate my activewear onepieces, I had dreamed about for so long. Despite Being based 10000km away from Sampleroom, the process has been running so smoothly over video call meetings.Being new to the fashion industry, I was not sure where to start and everything just seemed so overwhelming initially. Doing the Sampleroom mentorship program first, has been so helpful in guiding me though the whole process step by step. Having a resource base in Sampleroom with such extensive knowledge of the fashion industry has been wonderful in connecting me, for example to the right fabric agent to sourcing the best fabric for my design. Sample Room have been fantastic in helping me to develop my sportswear start up. Firstly, the Fashion Label Launchpad was perfect to build my knowledge, having come from a non fashion corporate marketing background. Secondly, the process of developing quite a technical range has been a dream. Such a collaborative and proactive team to not only nail a brief but come up with new ideas and different ways to approach things. When you are new to this industry, it is so difficult to navigate and find good suppliers, production, pattern makers etc and Sample Room makes this so much easier.I look forward to continuing our partnership for a long time.

Hi JuliaReally looking forward to tonight’s session.I’m blown away with the amount of information you are providing and it’s such ground roots info that we probably didn’t know we needed.I am a multiple business owner (with my husband) in the building industry so I have a little (he’s the brains!) bit of an idea what’s involved in the ‘business’ side of things but all the other in’s and out’s you are providing are fantastic. It is like having a business partner without having a business partner!I am insanely busy within my day-to-day work load yet there’s always been an idea floating in the back of my mind to just ‘have a go’ at producing something that someone else will love and buy.Interestingly, last night’s session talked about fear holding people back and that’s what it has always been for me.I feel as though things/encounters happen for a reason. I had worked for YEARS trying to get my fashion label off the ground and it wasn't until I found Julia and her amazing, talented team at Sample Room, that I was finally able to realise my dream.Finding a pattern maker willing to work with a fashion start up is incredibly difficult and I knew about the Mentor ship program for a whole year before finally committing to it. I know it may seem like a lot of money (and it really isn't, now that I look back on it) but it is worth every single cent.The mentor program taught me all of the things fashion that school left out. After completing the course, I was able to confidently design, manufacture and launch my own business.It has been a really rocky road and I have faced quite a few disappointments in businesses who promised one thing but delivered another. I can say with absolute certainty that Sample Room is the most professional supplier I have dealt with to date.Julia and her team really care about each designer and I have felt supported and confident in each process from design to pre production sample. The quality of the patterns all the way through to manufacturing is exemplary. I am one fussy customer and even my high standards have been satisfied.I consider myself one incredibly happy customer. I wish I'd found the Sample Room far earlier than I did! Julia has been amazing to work with, giving me lots of advice and support to get my sewn product to market. I did the Mentoring Program and while it is expensive, I think it's money well spent. It will prevent you making a lot of mistakes and prove to potential suppliers that you know what you are doing (which is important in manufacturing because a lot of people in the industry won't work with beginners). I couldn't recommend the Sample Room more highly.

Quite simply we could not have launched our new shapewear brand (@monsoonmadame) without the Sample Room.New to the fashion industry, the Fashion Label Launch program was an essential investment for me. I learnt so much from Julia and the team and even now, I am still referring back to my program notes and course material.It was lovely to meet other designers during the program - all with big dreams of a successful fashion label - it made the journey a little less lonely.Moving into design and production was a big step for me, but the Sample Room was with me every step of the way.
