The Broken Banyan

Great place. Tranquil, away from rest of the crowds and Barbara was helpful and very nice. We will stay here again on our next Lord Howe escapade.

Beautiful cosy appartment, great service from Barbara

This is an interesting review, because ordinarily for hotels, you're considering the rooms, amenities, location, etc. With Barbara's Broken Banyon, however, she is simply so wonderful and helpful that the relatively modest rooms don't make the slightest difference. Plus, her poodle Charlotte is an absolute sweetie. Given that you could spend literally $2000/night on the island, Barb's place is a steal ($250/night) Room is adequate, location is fine, but Barb is a wealth of information and without question a 5-star proprietor. She'll pick you up at the airport, take you back, book tours and make dinner reservations. She's a gem!

A very basic cabin which is affordable on a quite expensive island and very clean. Do not expect anything special though, after all, you always get what you pay for.This is not a complaint, Barbara is a good host, friendly, looks after you and ensures that you have a clean place but it is a bit dated. There are no extras thrown in, expect to buy everything except salt and pepper.WiFi is limited but available in immediate area of the laundry, some cabins will get the signal but most will not, you will have to walk. Again, this is holiday on a gorgeous island so you should be out an about and this should only be used for must do communication.It is an affordable place to sleep, get out and enjoy the island.

この地域ではリーズナブルな値段ですが、清潔で使いやすい丘の上のアパートメント、島で唯一のまともな食料品店まで歩いて10分以内ただし、インターネットは2018年9月の時点でTPリンクの安いルータでWIFIを飛ばしていますので、なんとか繋がる程度と思ってください。バーバラさんは、親切なおばあさん、でも英語しかダメですから、ちゃんとしゃべることができないと大変なのです部屋にある調味料は、塩と胡椒だけ。食器は完備してありますちなみにニコニコ現金払い（クレジット不可）です。2018/9

Clean and comfortable.

The units are spacious but very basic. My main concern is for people with dog allergies such as myself as Barbara's dog goes everywhere with her. In the car when she picks you up from airport & on daily restaurant drop offs.
