Very affordable, very handily located, and fairly well sound-proofed. 24-hour checkouts are a major point in its favour. The bar is a good thing, too.

this is the wors hospo iv ever witnessed, i had 2 drink s and they happily seveved me however afrter i served me i was garbbed my the neck however dragged instead of asked, i was open to leave however was tpuched in inappropriate ways and was forced to leave after only drank there. worst service i’ve experienced

TLDR: Not family friendly, mostly drunk loud people, unfriendly staff - expensive - disaster.Hi. I took my family to your pub today for mothers day. We seldom have the whole family together, and my wife was so happy (she has cancer). Unfortunately though we were thrown out - after having just one drink. My daughter (15 years old) had a busy day at school (Sunday extra curricular) - and the table next to us were very loud and drunk singing Jimmy Barnes songs, so she tuned out with her headphones on and her hoody up, while the rest of us shifted over to the pool table for some family fun.Just as we started to play your staff (young man - perhaps bouncer or manager?) came over and asked us to leave, because we have a no sleeping policy." Apparently my daughter looking like she was sleeping because she had her head down (obviously she wasn't drinking alcohol). She is a kid for gods sake - what is wrong with you!?We left

Love this place, feels like a country pub in the city. Only letdown: limited drink selection. Missing Ginger Beer on tap, disappointing. Please add Brookvale Union Ginger Beer. Oh, and Mercury Cider tastes awful; go for Pressman's Cider instead. It’ll make those people who don’t drink beer very happy.

My go to meet up place as it's in Chinatown and three car parks near by for those who drive. Nothing fancy but staff are always great and OK selection of beers on tap. A couple of screens with sport on and quite a few table and cheers. Would give 4.5 if there was such a thing.

Excellent location for a hostel, in the centre of Melbourne. Owners / staff were all very kind and accommodating with questions and luggage storage. Good facilities - kitchen, TV room, bathrooms and comfy beds. Only point to note in case you didn’t know, there is no lift! (I provided great entertainment to people when I tried to get my 4 bags up the many, many flights of stairs hahah). But staff are happy to storage luggage in a secure room on the ground level :)

Good bar with relatively reasonable prices. It's dark and dingey with bare brick walls, a bit like some British or European pubs. There were also a few dodgy characters in which added to the atmosphere.

This is a great place for a beer and a counter meal. Meals are the traditional fare and this place gets crowded at lunch time. Pop in for a beer and a parma. The tables out on the sidewalk are delighfully shaded by the trees and there is a usually a nice fresh breeze.

Alchohol store is open till late, if you need some booze would definitely reccomend swinging past and picking up whatever you need. Staff are also amazing and drinks are always affordable. A venue you should definitely visit during comedy month as well as they have comedy nights.

Amazing location for the budget friendly traveler. It has washers and dryers available, as well as a common room and decent kitchen. The bar and bottle shop attached are both open very late, and hostel patrons get a 10% at the bar. You cannot hear the bar at all inside the hostel I was really impressed actually. Right next to Chinatown which made finding dinner easy as. The rooms were not the best. It was cold when I visited and so the windows were closed throughout the night and day, and with no other ventilation or air fresheners the room had a very noticeable smell. Granted 6 people to a room. The showers and toilets were also pretty grimey with mould on the walls and the shower curtains. I replace my curtains when they go mouldy, I’m sure a hostel can afford the same. Overall, it’s a decent budget hostel.
