Thid was our 3rd visit and great food and experience as always! Swordfish was absolutely excellent - my wife got the hot-honey pizza and loved it!Awesome to have such a great restaurant in Budgewoi!

Great to have the Lago Cucina in Budgewoi area. Had a wonderful lunch with my mum & dad. Extensive wine list, and mum loved the Goose cocktail. Swordfish was delightful followed by sticky date pudding. The service was exceptional - looking forward to many visits ahread

A stunning venue with top notch food! We drove an hour to try this restaurant and were not disappointed.Service was warm and attentive and the food was delicious. We had three antipasti, a main and side, and dessert to share between two and we were so full that we didn't eat dinner that night!Highly recommend the Burrata dish, the Prawns, the Porchetta and the Sticky Date Pudding. The Truffle Fries were also so so good!We didn't try the pizzas but we watched plenty come out of the kitchen and they looked incredible, we can't wait to go back!

Customer experience = disappointed. The venue and atmosphere was lovely and tasteful decorated. Unfortunately the Meal did not meet the expectations from the reviews on the internet or the venue. I had the barramundi which was over cooked and rubbery. The affogato presentation was average. The meals and wine in my opinion were over priced compared to other venues. Conclusion : Great venue, I hope the food can match the venue with a reason price tag.

So fabulous that we have booked in already for June. A wonderful surprise on our way back from Newcastle. It’s hard to pick our favourite as each dish was sublime. That said, my all time favourite dish is zucchini flowers and Lago Cucina does it superbly. The service was impeccable and I would like to give Andrew a big shout out…super friendly and attentive. Wish all restaurants had someone like him. See you all in June!

We're very appreciative to have a top notch restaurant at this end of the Coast. We've been twice and the food is very good and nicely presented. We have been with a group of 5-6 on both occasions and shared entrees and selected our own mains. The kitchen happily accommodated adjusting the entree sizes so we could all sample (e.g. I think the zucchini flower dish was a serving of three and when we had five people they added extras accordingly). All the meals were flavoursome and enjoyable. I think the pricing, whilst not cheap, is reasonable for the quality. There is an interesting wine list, but the pricing reflects top end Sydney prices. This makes it more of a special occasion restaurant than something we would go to regularly. The restaurant decor is attractive and welcoming.

Lago Cucina
Beautiful place for drinks but food is overpriced for what you get. About $40-$48 for a main, but they were small portions so had to pay extra for a small entree. It all tasted ok, but not worth it for the price. I hope they improve the serving size & flavours for that price.I would recommend just for drinks though as the cocktails were good and had a nice atmosphere.

Beautiful food and service both times. So nice to have this level of restaurant offering on the central coast. The rigatoni and sticky date pudding is not to be missed! Wine selection is fabulous!

Lago Cucina
We dined upstairs with locals when we visited the recently rebadged Budgewoi Hotel. The light-filled, airy, neutral-toned Lago Cucina fills a gap in the local market for good quality, accessible Italian cuisine. With long tables, and more intimate booths carved into the walls, it’s just as set up for quiet midweek dinners as it is for festive group occasions. Operated by the Sydney Restaurant Group, the floor team knows how to make you feel valued and welcome. For our party of eight, this went above and beyond, with the kitchen crew carrying my elderly mother-in-law in her wheelchair Cleopatra-style up the venue’s front stairs. On what you might consider as a pricy menu for the area, it pays to eat family-style. The beautifully cooked whole lamb shoulder ($110) served under scattered mint with salsa verde and a golden roasted chat apiece was a lovely meal centrepiece. Miso-roasted cauliflower ($30) and truffle Parmesan fries ($12) dusted in porcini powder kicked it up into a whole meal. For our pescatarian component, an accessible tuna tartare ($30) dressed with miso and citrus, and the tender and lightly-battered Hawkesbury calamari fritti ($24) ensured everyone left satisfied.Sitting somewhere between chewy Neapolitan and the lighter Roman pizzas, Lago Cucina’s wood-fired offerings arrive with puffy blackened crusts and thinner, wetter centres. Vegana ($28) amped our vegetable intake with broccolini, garlic. mushrooms and roasted artichoke on crushed San Marzano tomatoes. In terms of drinks, alongside interesting cocktails and relatively mainstream beers, the wine list impressed by having multiple price points. From the lower end, the 2020 Corryton Burge ‘Kith’ Grenache ($56/bottle) proved an affable, red berry dominated day drinker enjoyed by many in our party.
