Lots of reviews saying these guys are trustworthy. That was not my experience at all here. I brought my car in with a misfire, they told me I needed to replace the coil pack. They assured me this was 100% the issue. I waited all week for the new part to arrive, they fit it and handed back the car. Within five minutes after paying and leaving, the engine warning light reappears. Took it back and they told me the issue was definitely fixed however the engine warning light itself was broken. This was obviously a lie.Turns out they replaced the coil pack without testing the original one, when they realised that didn’t fix the issue they reset the car’s computer to temporarily remove the engine warning light while I picked it up.I took it to another mechanic and the real problem was loss of compression in one of the cylinders. I can’t afford to take the engine apart so not only have I now lost my car but these guys charged me $600 to replace a perfectly working part and then lied about it. They should’ve admitted their mistake and apologised for wasting a week of my time, not to mention money on Uber’s to work.The other issue that really annoyed me was they replaced my wiper blades without asking and charged me. The original wiper blades were just 4 days old!!!Definitely avoid this place and remember just because they clean your car doesn’t actually mean they fixed anything.

Very pleased with the service, they sent me pictures and messages of issues that needed to be addressed and kept me updated on the service. Really friendly and being a first time customer I’m definitely looking forward to my next visit.

We use a few mechanics around Cairns. Japan Auto Repair is at the top of the list for a preferred mechanic, considering their attention to detail, pricing and transparency around the work they do our vehicles and why they do it. We have Toyota vehicles so I can only speak to their expertise f or that company but I have seen other Japanese vehicles at their service centre. I have taken our vehicles in a few times to them and they have always done good work. One instance, the problem was a rear axle and they troubleshooted through the issues and the outcome was more expensive but better, because they took the time to address the actual problem. Highly Recommended.

Absolutely wonderful! We just walked in for checking the breaks on our Challenger, just got squeezed in and 2 hours later they had it done. Very friendly and efficient service, as we needed it during our travels. Very Professional and good prized as well! Cheers for that!

Very honest, friendly and reliable service, with reasonable/cheap prices. Been taking my little Toyota Yaris there for years, and never had any issue. It's nice to see that some honest, hard-working and kind mechanics still do exist :)

I spent $1,000 last service. Replaced the new battery but insecure, broken aircon compressor Etc… always over price and terrible customer service
