Sphinx Memorial
This war memorial built by W.Shirley is a great peice of art in detication to his fallen comrades in WW1. The intricate detail that was put into this memorial was all hand carved by the late solider. There is informative displays that inform people about the monument and what it stands for. There is also a cast from a famous ship that is also laid to rest here. You must stop over here after a hike down through Bobbin Head.

It’s been wonderful walk. From Bobbin’s Head to Sphinx Memorial by Bobbin’s Head Trail and then back by warrimoo track. Last part of the route goes via forest with small waterfall where you can dip in and along the river.

A nice trail that leads to the Bobbin head marina restraint which has some of the best seafood in Sydney.Takes about 2 hours to hike there.Can do this trail as a circuit to get back on Bobbin head trail which only takes 1hr20min.

Sphinx Memorial
I took the Sphinx trail (5.5km) down to Bobbin Head and the Bobbin Head trail (4.5km) back. Beautiful walks, great scenery. It took me about 3 hours at a comfortable pace. The Sphinx memorial was a good rest and picnic spot, but was not the highlight of the visit.

Great walking track. This track is well maintained. There is parking located adjacent to the start of the track in the national park. Standard $12 entry fee applies.

I have been wanting to see this place for ages but I was totally under whelmed when I saw it yesterday. A plaque was missing off the top of the box statue in front of the Sphinx. This is supposed to be a tribute to the AIF of the first world war. I think it needs restoration.

Unusual quiet atmosphere, has a bus stop not far from. To come here by car moat likely you will have to pay a national park fee at the entrance.

Interesting WW1 Memorial just inside the entrance of Kuringi Chase National Park. Memorial needs a bit of work but it’s interesting and worth a look. The entrance to the loop walk to Bobbin Head is nearby.
