Remote Area Dive

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Michael, Jason, Philippe and the rest of the crew from Remote Area Dive. I really think this is just the beginning for me, that will turn into something much bigger down the track. I completely recommend to anyone who is curious or keen to lean diving, to go through this diving group. You won't regret it.

This is the most horrible shopping experience in Tonwsville. When I paid for the diving courses fee, no body will explain anything about the key points to you. Hope you could read the contract for a thousand times by yourselves. After that, no body will give you accurate feedback of diving, but later they may ask you for taking more extra courses, definetley, with extra fees. Be careful again. If you want to discuss any questions with the staff, different people will give you different responses. You will be lost. And while you think the manager will deal with all your matters, no, he will hang up soon. One more thing, if your kid wish to attend the course, plesase remember your parents should talk with them directly , or they may say your kids didn't pay attention to what they said. Sincerely, this will be helpful for your decision. Sorry, there is no way to give a zero star. Good luck for your unexpected diving.

I highly recommend Remote Area Dive for tech diving courses. Jason is an excellent instructor, he is knowledgeable, patient and reassuring. I felt supported while we completed some of the more challenging parts of the course. The Remote area dive in general are a friendly and professional bunch!

If you book with this company you best hope nothing goes wrong because management lacks basic customer service skills and empathy. I was informed to be at the boat ramp which was a 12 min drive (50min walk) away at 6.30am. I pre ordered a taxi which did not arrive and was trying uber and other services and had no luck. I started to walk towards the location whilst calling the dive shop and sending emails and noone would answer. It was 7am and I was still 20min away so I decided to turn back. At 7.15am I get a call from one of the divers to see if I was coming. I told him I'd been trying to reach them all morning and had I known they had not left yet I would have made it in time. He told me they can't wait and that I can talk to the manager when the shop reopened on Tuesday. I call the manager Jason and tell him the situation. He shows no empathy and doesn't even offer to reschedule my dive or provide a partial refund. I paid $235 for scuba + $40 equipment hire. I said I should atleast get back the $40 as no equipment was used and he said No. Absolute joke of a company. He wasn't even open to my suggestion of providing an emergency phone number that customers could reach incase something similar happened to someone else in future. Spend your money elsewhere.

Just completed technical dive training with Remote Area Dive.Blown away by the professionalism, level of training and quality of training and also the support from all the staff.From day one was made to feel at home and loved every minute of my courses. Would recommend this business to anyone looking for recreational to top level technical training. I can't wait to be back to further my qualifications soon with this team!

Absolutely brilliant team. Open water was one of my biggest fears and both woody and Phil made great instructors and made exploring open water a peaceful, beautiful experience. 100% trust in the Remote area team. Equipment and dive gear is to the highest standard.The team will do everything to accommodate you and your needs. These guys are very supportive of defence veterans. They are a strong pillar in the Townsville community by supporting locals and encouraging people to experience something unreal. Again the team are 100% very much supportive and will work with you to achieve your dream or goal.They will treat you like you're human not just a customer or client. It's worth it.

Thanks to Jason and the RAD team for a great dive at Lodestone reef. Big thanks to Jordie for taking me through the refresher dive and getting me up to scratch again. All up a great experience I’ve recommended to others and will be back to do another trip.
