Horrible food ! Horrible customer service !I had the worst restaurant experience in Melbourne. I ordered chicken noodle, the chicken tasted weird. I ask the waiter to rework or replace with a nice, polite voice tone and language. The waiter responded with abusive language and personal attack. I asked to speak to the owner to clarify the situation and give feedback of the poor customer service, and was rudely refused.I will never eat in here again, and will stop all my friends visiting as well. This restaurant should be taken over by another owner who has good healthy food and good customer service !

A traditional Chinese feast is what we need on cold winter evenings. @foodstories.au in Boxhill is a perfect classic and very, very old school Chinese restaurant serving the most authentic Chinese food you’ll ever find in Melbourne. What we had here:Whole baby chicken with Sichuan sauce and peppercorn, really spicy but very addictive, might leave your mouth numb from the heat and leaves a tingling after taste, yet it was honestly so comforting and a perfect antidote to beat the crazy Melbourne cold. Must try, if you’re good with spicy food.Pork hock, the tender and easily melt—in-the-mouth pork hock is a must try, feels very fresh to eat it.Sizzling stir beef with onions and capsicums, this one is packed with so much flavours and is mildly spicy and the tender juicy beef pieces are really yummy. Highly recommendPork dumplings, very comforting, and the fillings is really delicious. Must try.Special fried rice, wow this was my absolute favourite, had simple and satisfying flavours and tasted very mouthwatering. Must try for sure. The prices are very standard and their elaborate menu features so many varieties of tasty Chinese food.So why not visit this weekend @foodstories.au with your friends/family for dinner/lunch.

Take forever for a hot pot to be ready!! We waited one and half hours, so did everyone before and after us!And the hot pot costs $22! Just some water with little spring onion! The waiter said will give us discount, which turned out to be $0.30!Never come back again!

Great winter cuisine experience with the charcoal copper hotpot, I recommend to order the hand cut lamb shank meat to fill up your appetite and the BeiJing cabbage to better digest the meat etc. Ordering the two dishes will make two person full already. Spot for the guy with glasses for value-add friendly service as he is the owner of the restaurant. The cooks at the back are nice too.

What a great place for authentic Beijing cuisines. We tried their tofu with little spice which was so delicious. Firm, spongy and great aromatic flavours. The deep fried pork was sizzling hot when it arrived and was so crispy. The fried rice was plain and not too oily making it a perfect combo with the other dishes. The dumplings are also wrapped fresh so there was minimal juice that came out of them.

We thoroughly enjoyed this feast:Stewed Fish fillets with pickled chili & vegetables (酸菜鱼)The fish is thinly sliced and poached in a rich broth. The fish has a velvety and silky texture, with a piquant and zesty taste from pickled mustard greens. It is a great dinner dish that you will find really comforting and satisfying on a chilly day.Wagyu beef with Black pepper sauce- this Chinese classic features bold flavor. Satisfying balance of tastes, textures, and colors that are sharply accented by the smoldering heat of the crushed peppercorns. Highly recommended(Nam Yu Deep fried Spare ribs in preserved tofu 南乳炸肉) is very flavourful, salty and has a very unique aromatic.Crispy Deep Fried Duck- deep fried for a crispy finish. The duck was tender and encased with a thin crispy crust, perfect with beer!Chinese crepes or pancakes filled with not overly sweet red bean paste. In KL very often we have this at wedding banquet as sweet ending. Its been years i last have this! So glad we found this @foodstories.au its perfect balance of sweet and savoury, and a great way to end the meal
