I asked for a dirty matcha latte with extra matcha powder. I don’t know why it tastes so different this time… very strong caffeine, barely taste matcha…I’m a huge matcha fan, but this is really like a strong iced skinny latte with unmixed matcha powder on the bottom. And the matcha powder seems different.

Got a cappuccino in a cup, the coffee was smooth and brewed well (not burnt). Sitting outside at tables in the great court under the trees was very relaxing for a Friday morning. Great and quick service as usual, even when it was busy with uni students!

I always face unskilled cashiers and baristas. There is always a mistake order from them. Staff and who called a barista need a lot of courses for serving good coffee without mistakes. There is also a lack of understanding. For instance, I ordered the bean of month, yet I got the blend coffee!!! This happened many times. I pay for the coffee; it is not free. Thus, the order must be right.It is not recommended.

I love UQ Merlo. The coffee is excellent, and so are the humans that work there. The cafe has a lively, salubrious vibe, nestled in the best corner of the Great Court. Erin manages the place like a pro, and it's always nice catching up with her and the baristas -- a great place to catch up with friends or to meet other students (or to sit introvertedly and read books as I do). You'll see tutors and lecturers there too. And also the occasional food-snatching Ibis endemic to the area, so beware! 5/5!

Coffee is generally good but I wouldn't waste your time on the food. My Turkish toast this morning was not Turkish bread, was barely toasted, and the butter was just hard sparse chunks. Waste of money, they are too busy to care.

Good coffee and food. Service quality is inconsistent though. Some days you get lucky and get someone good, other days you get someone in a strop. Today one of the staff literally pulled one of his friends out of the queue so that he could serve her first... Pretty poor. Bit of advice: if you're going to do something like that, make it a bit less obvious hey.

On a few occasions I’ve ordered drinks and small snacks from Merlo and they’ve always been delicious. The staff are caring and hardworking. The only criticism I have is that sometimes my chai lattes have been quite sugary.

usually a solid place to grab a drink and a snack in between classes but not entirely sure in what timeline paying for a 16oz drink turned it into a 12oz before even taking a sip.
