Great location in the city. Amazing food and interior inside. Fantastic service and all staff are super friendly. Highly recommend when you are in Bendigo.

Bunja Thai Restaurant
We stumbled across Bunja Thai when we first came to Bendigo and did not know where to go for lunch. Bunja was full of customers inside and out. The lunch menu is simple with fixed and daily dishes. We chose Thai fried chicken and pork belly rice and oh my god, these were amazing! We loved every single component of the dish at such reasonable price and fast customer service. The decoration is outstanding. Even the restroom is intricately designed. What a gem! Will definitely come back and recommend to all our friends and family.

Dined at Bunja Thai for dinner. It has an uplifting feel from the moment I saw it outside to walking inside of this old Colonial Bank. Really cool to see the old bank vault on display too.The staff were warm and inviting and recommended a few dishes. We had a selection including the Hung Lay pork belly curry, chicken Pad Thai, prawn Tom yum and Hor Mok seafood stir-fry in young coconut. The food was nice, and you can taste the ingredients which are fresh.Overall it lacked depth of flavour and the wow factor. The Hor Mok seafood was didn't have much seafood, and was cooked within a mushy thick paste. The Tom yum soup had some seafood, small and again lacked punch of flavour. The pad Thai was good. Maybe the flavour profiles are attuned to where the chef's are from. I'm used to a mouth full of many flavours and punch at my favourite Thai restaurant. But, having said that it was a good meal. The ambience and atmosphere were worth it.The beef curry was average, not tender. Felt like a braised beef stew rather than curry.Was inconvenient that some people were unable to go to the rest rooms located up the stairs due to limited mobility.

Proper coconut juice and local craft beer kicked us off nicely. Loved the Pud Thai. Haven't had such rich flavours in a long time. Spring Rolls were fat and tasty too. Was a little slow to bring food out. Could be due to being full on a Tuesday night. Still loved the food and would go back.

Date / time of visit: 7 February 2023 @ 6:15pm (approx)Stunning venue. Excellent quality food. Flavours were a fresh experience from my previous experiences of Thai food. The Boa buns had wonderfully cooked pork. The Peking duck pancakes had lovely Thai flavours and the duck had a good crispy taste. Two mains were ordered and serving sizes were good. Both mains had great chilli heat that made the tongue tingle nicely. We didnt find the dishes too hot but some might. When we arrived there weren't too many patrons but the crowd size slowly grew. Maybe ok for walk ins without reservation early in the week (like us), maybe book for later in the week. Prices were good. Quality great. Staff great. A happy dining experience.

Bunja Thai Restaurant
Our trip away in Bendigo has come to an end on our second last dinner meal and it was time to try something different. Quick look in Google reviews and Bunja Thai looked good. Once we entered, we were hoping that the food tasted and looked as good as the interior of this beautiful building. Our food was delicious, service was good. I had the yellow curry with chicken, and the Mrs had the red curry with beef.

Yummy soup but all the pork was just fat not one piece of pork I could eat it was very disappointing.
