Had my leavers makeup done last year and brought in a photo of makeup I wanted and everytime the lady asked if I liked it I kept saying can you do this and pointed to the picture but she continued to do her own thing. The end result was nice though it was nothing like what I wanted. I'm studying beauty now and I know that you can hint a client to another idea but in the end you must do what they want and that's not what i was experiencing. I was also confused about the lighting because it's so dull inside as soon as you walk outside it could look completley different. If you are doing makeup get the right lighting. First impression wasnt great.

I was originally booked in for henna brows, a lash lift and SHR.I’ve received IPL for the past three years from different clinics and yet I was told I needed a consult at least 24hrs before proceeding to do a full treatment. This consult cost is not exactly cheap either but hey, it is what it is.Then, I received a phonecall on Wednesday, originally over 48hrs before my first appointment time, to bring forward my appointments.I asked some questions which the lady didn’t know the answer to and had to wait on a phone call back.I was then told that I can get all the procedures done on the Saturday instead. I then queried the whole consult and having to wait 24hrs policy that they had as that was being completely ignored.Again, no direct answer was given and I was told I’d get a call back.Then I was told that I do need to have the consult first and come back in for the procedure 24hrs later.It was all very confusing and I felt like if I didn’t say anything, they would have ignored their own policy.I got confused by it all and mixed up the date of my SHR consult (I had family members flying into Hobart on that Wednesday morning, first flight got delayed so they got a different connecting flight, so there was a lot of stress, date and times in my head around this time) . I called on Thursday morning at 10:37am asking to change the Friday’s time and was told it was in fact in an hours time on that Thursday.I was absolutely sick of appointment times changing at this point and asked to just cancel all the SHR appointments. I was told I would loose my deposit for those if I did as it wasn’t 48hrs notice. I was fine with loosing the deposit for the consult as it was meant to be on that morning, but loosing the deposit for Saturday’s SHR treatments made zero sense to me as it was over 48hrs notice. Then I read on their website (wasn’t told by the lady on the phone) that they don’t treat Saturday’s as working days even though they open and operate as normal on those days, thus, having to forfeit my deposit.I went in for my lash lift and henna brows and felt completely rushed on the day. The work was great and the lady who did them was nice, but I was just rushed into the room and didn’t get a game plan of what was to come or how I’d like things done apart from saying that I don’t like my lashes too curly.When the time came to pay, I asked questions about the deposit as I had left two separate deposits to the total sum of $164, and with the ladies calculations, there was “around $15 leftover” which was taken from the total sum left to pay leaving $118 as the remaining total.I wasn’t shown any invoices explaining this on the day, the lady behind the counter was moving between two computers looking a bit flustered and talking very quietly. Another customer was waiting to pay with another employee and that said employee said that she’s waiting on the machine so I felt rushed to pay even though I was asking questions that were concerning to me.It was also Christmas Eve so I didn’t want to ruin anyones day, including my own.The part that frustrates me the most is the whole 48hr refund policy (which you can only change from Tue-Fri as they’re closed Mondays and don’t consider Saturday a business day. So if you’ve a Tuesday appointment that you want to change, you need to do so on the Thursday prior to save your money!!). If you’re open and working on Saturday’s, then you should treat that day as a normal, working business day, simple.I paid just under $300 for a lash lift and henna brows in the end. Will not be back!

Have been going to Sharkra for over 10 years!! Always a professional, friendly and welcoming experience. It feels like visiting a friends house!
