Urban Salsa

BEST part of my experience in Sydney. I developed a new skill and met my closest friends in the city. Urban Salsa was my home away from home for the duration of the 2 years I lived in Australia. More than a dance school, Urban Salsa is truly a family.Ray teaches by passion, desire to see his students grow and feel comfortable on the dance floor. He takes time to ensure you get the technics, will explain and re-explain as much as you need - until you nail it! :) Besides the dancing skills, Ray creates a friendly environment where all are welcome and where judgment does not exist, regardless of your level. Ray's love for dancing is contagious.I would recommend to anyone looking to learn or grow their dancing skills. If you are in the West, this is your school! If you are elsewhere in Sydney, it's definitely worth the trip.

Honestly one of the best decisions I made coming out of lockdown was signing up to both salsa and bachata classes at Urban Salsa. Both Ray and Celine are amazing teachers! They break down the steps in such a clear way which really helps you learn the steps and perfect the technique! Learning at Urban Salsa has really helped me gain confidence on the social dancing scene! Such a great studio and an excellent environment! Everyone is so friendly and I always look forward to class! Glad to be a part of the Urban Salsa crew!

My choice and recommendation of premium Latin dance school in Western Sydney. Offers well structured courses for all levels, fun and relaxed atmosphere. Head Instructor's passion to teach is shown in his every dance move, which creates a I want to DANCE like that" experience..."

Our work social club wanted to try something new and booked Ray from Urban Salsa for a one-hour beginner's private group class for $150. Almost all of our small group were first-timers but we had a ball learning some of the basics of the Merengue and Bachata. (Tip: try to bring along as many guys as girls as you'll be dancing together and changing dance partners throughout the lesson.)Ray is a great teacher for beginners. He has a fun style and explains new concepts well, encouraging you with the basics without making you feel bad for getting it wrong. The location was great for us; there is a fridge at the venue to chill some drinks for the group and Uncle Kurts small bar is across the road and open in the afternoons/evenings for anyone that needs a little liquid courage beforehand.Most of our group want to book in again and bring more people along next time; some were talking about joining Ray's normal classes.

Urban Salsa is the place to be! I’ve been going since the beginning of the year and it’s been so much fun. Ray’s passion of Latin dance shines through his teaching. He’s created a light hearted atmosphere for people to feel welcome and fall in love with Salsa and Bachata. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Urban Salsa.As a novice to the salsa scene, Ray has been a great teacher who is patient and works well with students to ensure that nobody is left behind in the progression of the class. Fellow students are social and the overall atmosphere and experience is fun which is exactly what I was after.I would not hesitate in recommending Urban Salsa to fellow dancers!

Urban Salsa is not just a Latin dance studio but a community in its own right and home to many salseros and Salseras. Learning dancing can be an intimidating process. At Urban Salsa, you become a part of the community that loves Salsa dancing and lets you grow and have fun at your own pace.Raymond is easily one of the best teachers when it comes to Salsa and fundamentals. He sets you up for long term success helping you develop your own style with a solid technique.

Can't recommend Urban Salsa enough! Ray is a great guy who creates a fun environment, where everyone can enjoy themselves while learning a new skill.One thing that sets Urban Salsa apart from other dance studios is how easy it is to make new friends and meet people, the parties are fun, and it doesn't take long to feel like you're part of a new family.Ray focuses on breaking down each and every move so that you have a better understanding of how to dance well, and you leave feeling confident that you've improved after every lesson.Since I've started coming to Urban Salsa, I haven't looked back. 5 stars all round!

Ray is an excellent teacher and makes the classes super fun :) Great environment to learn. The people are also lovely and always encouraging. I even got my partner who wasn't interested in dance to tag along and he enjoyed it. I totally recommend!!
