HAVEN ON BARKERS

We spent four nights here and found it the perfect little getaway. The cottage is beautifully appointed, with every luxury thought of by the hosts. The bed and linen were all top quality, the kitchenette well equipped, all the furniture and seating comfortable, and of course the double sized spa is a real treat. The cottage has air-conditioning and ceiling fans for comfort. The hosts were extremely friendly and accomodating. In addition to all the inside has to offer, you have a private gazebo, a golf putting green, and five acres of beautiful gardens to stroll around in. It is very quiet and very private here, and yet only a few minutes from Castlemaine central. This B&B is the perfect location to explore the surrounding regions of Castlemaine, Maldon etc. We loved our getaway here, and look forward to our next stay...

What a wonderful weekend !Our stay at Haven on Barkers topped off our wedding week-end in Victoria’s Central Highlands.Judi and Lou welcomed us on arrival late on Friday night with dinner prepared!We were so spoilt all weekend with home made treats, even cooking lessons!Black Cats and Cherry Ripes a very special treat!!!The beds were so comfortable with beautiful linen and every little essential one could think of was on hand… even a chocolate at bedtime!On a tour of the property, amidst its gorgeous flower beds and shady trees we met the goats, so tame and all with their own special personalities.Thank you Judi and Lou, we arrived as strangers and left as friends. The hosts are just absolutely wonderful and genuine people. The premises were faultless and very clean and they go above and beyond to make your stay a memorable experience. Highly recommended.

Judi and Lou were exceptional hosts. The studio we stayed in was very clean, comfortable and the service exceeded our expectations. They went above and beyond to assist us, helping us with transportation and local attractions. We would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in Castlemaine.

Treated like a king and queen.Where do I start? I've been to bed and breakfasts all over the world. This one by far surpassed then all in friendliness, cleanliness, style and cuisine. Seriously, where else do you arrive to freshly baked scones with jam and cream, tea of your choice or coffee. The grounds are beautiful and extremely well maintained with goats, chickens, canaries and budgies. We walked along the creek after our tea and were treated to birdsong and kangaroos.Netflix was provided so we watched a documentary before going into town for dinner.I don't normally rave about a bed, but sliding into our luxurious double in the guest room was amazing. I wish I had taken photos of the room because presentation was brilliant.Breakfast was everything that we expected after such a marvelous beginning. Yoghurt, fruit, cereals, toast, bacon, eggs from the yard, mushrooms, sausage, chutney, baked beans. Amazing. The pictures posted do not do it justice.All of the above was included in the quoted price. I am overwhelmed and will return.Thank you Judy and Lou

This was meant to be a one night biz stop over, but decided to make a weekend of it when I found this place online. Judi & Lou's attention and care are off the chart. The place is gorgeous and peaceful. We had freshly baked bread on arrival. There was so much provided we really didn't even need to eat out the first night.I would go as far to say once I saw and stayed my first night I'd be back again, and happy to pay 15-20% more than their list price.

Anyone wishing to have a relaxing weekend away from city, then this is the place to visit! It did not disappoint us. Judi and Lou are fantastic hosts, their garden is gorgeous. It was lovely to see the Rufus Whistler! We would suggest two nights, one night wasn't enough. Thanks again Judi and Lou!

Wow - we booked this place through Airbnb and upon our arrival we were blown away. From the bath robes that remind me of a 5 star hotel to the freshly baked dessert I felt like everything had been prepared above and beyond my expectations.When we arrived we marvelled at the accommodation before sitting outside in the shade to enjoy one of the freshly baked slices of cake. We then explored some of the local delights nearby.Highly recommended - the spa was incredible and I've never seen a place so neat and tidy (I'm also an Airbnb host and this gave me some great ideas!)
