The Dog House

We had our pups booked in and we had something come up so we tried to call them in advance from days before the scheduled appointment. No one answered and then at the time of the appointment when we had no choice but to explain that we had been trying to contact them, they actually abused my wife and said something along the lines of well

Donna and Scott are excellent groomers. Friendly and the fur babies love going there.

Doghouse is excellent . Been going there for years . Gets buzzy some times . So book early . They have looked after 3 of our dogs .

So.. we took Spike, aptly pre named, rescued loving bull arab rascal to The Dog House to get his nails clipped. We have looked at all YouTube etc,etc, and have miserably failed to clip his nails as he has not let us do so for more than an year.In sheer desperation we took him to the Dog House for a clip, pretty sure he will be rejected for being aggressive.5 minutes later Spike comes out as calm as ever, nails all clipped!!!!Thank you Dog House!!

A little disappointed with the experience. No question that your dog will be loved but the quality of cut is questionable.Was absolutely devastated when I got my dog to my car and noticed her foot bleeding and upon further investigation, one of her nails had been cut so short that it was all the way down to the nail bed. She was in pain and the bleeding continued for nearly three hours after picking her up.There is no way this was not noticed when it was done and then not to be informed about it was quite a let down.:(

After arriving at the shop with my two dogs some eight minutes late, I was greeted with probably the worst customer service I have ever received.To cut a long story short the man said that “I could leave and take my two dogs with me’,so that is what i I did,And After taking my dogs to this place for over two years, I will never be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else to go there as well.I work in customer service and if I ever was to treat a customer and speak to a customer like he did I would be looking for a another line of work

I've been getting my little Poof Ball groomed here for years now. Just love it. Donna and her husband are fabulous. They are very reasonably priced, but it's not about the money for me, they are wonderful with all the dogs. My little girl just loves going there.

I have been bringing my dog here for years and have recommended this service to plenty of people. Today we got abused for running 8 minutes late and told not to come back. You're trying to run a business? Discussing way to do it.

Great service but...I picked up my dogs, went home and one was bleeding from toenails.It wouldn’t stop bleeding so I took it to the vet.Ended up spending $117 cause it also got a Tetanus shot.I rang the dog house today and just to explain to them of what had happened.A lady answered the phone.She apologised and said this does happen a lot.Of all the years of taking my dogs in for a groom, no matter where in cairns.My dogs have never come home with something like this.So this was a first for me.And when I explained that I had to take my dog in to the vet.She argued with me and said that i shouldn’t have had to.The point is the dogs nail wouldn’t stop bleeding.So after explaining that to her she said ‘sorry about that’ and slammed the phone down.Little did she know that I was just letting them know of what happened.I wasn’t complaining. I would have gladly taken my dogs back there again.But after she cut short the conversation and argued about the whole vet deal and slammed the phone down.Why would you wanna go back there with a attitude like that?And to tell me that these things happen a lot (toes bleeding cause they cut them too short), i don’t find it surprising but you would think one could learn from a mistake the first time.Cause I’ve never ever experienced this from other places in cairns.

I took my little one there for a couple of years without complaint Then one day I was abused for arriving late for appt. Yes my fault but you don't speak to clients in that manner. Some time after my dog began to come home with cuts to her skin. Not once but several times then she would refuse to go inside the parlour Something was not right. So I took her elsewhere and she has not had an issue.Speaks Volumes to me.
